Curious what you hairstyles you guys are doing for benign neglect?
Whole lotta buns. Buns with spin pins! Buns with scrunchies! Buns with ficcare or small claw clips!
If I feel like changing it up, I’ll do a peacock twist in a large claw clip, or just twist everything up in a claw clip without the ends sticking out.
For sleeping I usually do one or two small French braids. Two braids is more secure but sometimes I am lazyMy hair is still too short and layered for a lot of hairstyles but I make do.
I do a cinnabun, although it’s not the prettiest. I tend to have a lot of bits that stick out. The spin pins can be used strategically to contain those, but on my lazy days I just let the wispy bits do their thing.
There was a video I watched a while back about how to do a cinnabun on SL hair, and the video maker said the trick was to twist it more loosely. So if you’re having a tough time of it, maybe try that. I still find I have to use either a lot of pins or a rather large clip though. (or just accept that it’s going to look like a hot mess. Messy buns are a thing, right?)
The loop bun is my scrunchie bun go to.
My secret is regular trimming. I have a lovely stylist who knows I'm growing and she only trims what's necessary.
As for hairstyles, my hair is too slippery and too layered in the front for any bun to hold or look neat no matter what I try. Peacock twist looks funny on me so usually I wear hair down or in a ponytail.

Delurking to join the protective styling discussion!Hi length-mates!!
Half of my hair is still at chin length so buns aren't possible right now, but I've found a great workaround, parandas! I just french braid them in (usually do twin braids but sometimes just one) and then there's length to put it in a lazy wrap bun at the base of my neck, it makes me ridiculously happy to be using my hairsticks again! Death-Within-Me, your hair might be too thick for "proper" buns right now, I couldn't do a cinnabun until APL. But I think tucked braids are an excellent protective style, and loop buns are also protective provided you use something soft to secure it, don't make it too tight, and vary the placement from day to day. *dreaming of being able to even do a loop bun someday*
Other bun options: the disc bun, and multiple buns (ala the bunhawk, etc.)

Hi Everyone!
I have finally reached shoulder and I am coming over here to be part of the growing to APL action!Glad to be here.
I am currently not doing much for benign neglect hairstyles. I like to use a claw clip for a twist or a cinnabun at the nape held with a spin pin. Otherwise I still wear it down and loose because it is really pretty short still.
