Wow, I don't think I've been in this forum since November. With travel and life, I got busy and forgot about the length of my hair for a while. I'm about an inch away from APL and just updated my avatar.

And then, I have next 6 months to reach BSL by the end of June 2020. Isnt' that close to WL?? To me, from this point of view it is very close to WL, believe me, haha
I forgot to say, that I don't plan to cut my hair. I really hope that one tiny trim of 1cm in January would be enough to make my hemline decent. I have some strands that are dry and frizzy, but I'm not going to cut all my hair because of that. I still can't decide am I going to do a blunt 1cm trim, or U shape or a bit layered. It all depends on those dry parts how are they going to behave in January. I say, maybe I'm too optimistic, but when I look at someone having BSL , to me it looks really close to WL. Please, don't break my illusions

Yes, my starting point for measuring is hairline on forehead.

About going gray. Now I'm not sure if I understood you. I assume that as much as time goes, and how hair is replaced with new ones, the chance for the new ones to be gray are bigger and bigger. I don't know what is the life cycle of my hair. Maybe now I get only greys? Maybe those in my natural colour are very old that soon are all going to be replaced with gray? If it is so, then root might look much whiter then the rest (long) hair. I already have one strand with whites, that isn't long, but is much thicker and visible near root. From that place, only white ones are growing.
Your hair is also quite straight Agava, so it makes sense that you might achieve it
I plan on doing some more small trims. Also, Sl - BSL is a long way on me. I also plan on doing some more small trims.
BSL - Waist is about 10 cm on me. Never thought of it like this before. Waist just sounded like unreachable long, whereas 10 cm of growth is 4 to 5 months I guess.

About gowing grey: it sounds to me like you are growing streaks. Maybe your hair ends grows grey in the same fashion as chrystawni's? Anyway, it might look really really good

    All new people: Welcome

I am growing along nicely. Stretched or soaking wet my hair is at APL but dry and wavy it has a bit to go. Also I am not going call it now because I have an appointment July 5th to get rid of my layers which will be about a 2 inch cut. I don’t mind the length loss because I want to enjoy my hair every inch of the way and I just can not with these layers.

No, my hair is somewhere 1c level now. It's wavy and frizzy where I dyed. In 6 months I guess I could see the texture of virgin hair, too.
About calculation: in the beginning I also didn't go far with plans, mostly because I myself didn't believe that I could resist trimming.
Do you really need to trim your hair often, or is it that you want?
Honestly, 5 months after BSL doesn't seem as too far after all. Even if you trim and reach 8cm instead of 10cm, then only 2cm remains to WL. Still, it will be a very nice progress.
Btw, when do you expect to reach APL?

I don't know chrystawni, I'll check her hair later if she has an album.

Whoops, I spelled her name wrong.. it is Crystawni. Link to her profile: https://forums.longhaircommunity.com/member.php?u=64612

I think I'll reach APL in a year or so? With good care, I think a 1 cm trim every 6 months is okay for me. Clearly, I have done no math or even measured how much growth I would need to reach APL. It is more based on past experience, but back then I did cut more then I needed to I guess. So I will just see how it goes.

My hair is feeling longer than it has been in years! Maybe at least 20 years. I think I grew it out for a bit in 1998-2000?

Quite happy with the condition of my hair. I’ve been mostly CG safe products the whole time and haven’t used any heat. I air dry it. No splits that I can see yet.

I’m not sure of my ultimate goal. I say I’m growing it until I retire (6 more years). But I guess I will go for as long as I can handle it. In my mind, I cannot wait to do some fancy buns with it. But not sure if I have the necessary skills to do them. Haha

    So far I’m happy!

We just got home from a beach week, so life has been pretty good. Back to work now 🙄 but thankful I have a job! 😎

    Hope you’re doing well!
I’m finally checking the ONE and only item off my bucket list! Longer hair than a pixie! Now I’m creeping to waist and can’t believe it!!! Growing til I retire...and probably after.... 🤗

Nah. My hair still looks and feels short.
I'm happy with the condition though.
Not really, I'm just aiming to waist and see how I feel after that.
I get a little frustrated if I think about my hair too much but otherwise I'm good

Laura1986 I too have a long distance from shoulder to APL but then my waist seems to be a bit higher than I expected. When my hair stretched, I am close to MBL and once I get there, its only a couple of inches to WL. To me that's super encouraging because I was stuck in SL to APL forever and WL seemed like such a unachievable goal but I think I might hit that before end of the year - stretched that is.

Now unstretched ...sigh...I have been in SL to APL for over 18months!! And that's with hardly any trims just mainly S&D with the exception of a single trim taking of 1/4" heh (dusting I guess?). But I'm finally getting there, I think by end of summer I can definitely call it. That will be a milestone I am going to celebrate big time. I'm sure it will involve some wine. And some chocolate lol.

I just have to say that I love your hair so much. It is just so pretty!
