I want to look like a medieval lady
So that I can wear nothing, yet cover everything with my hair
I want to look like a mermaid/elf/mythical creature/princess/anime character/Renaissance painting
To defy cultural stereotypes and expectations
I want to be able to use my hair as a weapon
For warmth, to wear as a blanket/coat/scarf
I really want to become (or now enjoy being) an old woman with long, flowing silver/white hair
I like big buns and I cannot lie!
I love the feeling of my hair brushing against my body, lower and lower down
To prove (to myself or others) that I can, or out of a sense of competition or defiance
To look more femme, and less butch or boyish
Hi
I have voted `I love the feeling of my hair brushing against my body, lower and lower down`

I want to look like a medieval lady
I had to select almost all of them XD
The only answers I didn't choose were; to keep warm, and for big buns.
I think my main reason has always been to look and feel magical, though. I've always wanted to be a fairy, or a sorceress, or a mermaid, or a medieval maiden-knight with a long red braid and an even longer (magic) great-sword!
(and c'mon, who doesn't want to put some lead weights on the end of a braid and have a built in mace?!?)

ok, really now I so wanted to select "I like big buns and cannot lie" ROFL, but that isn't my reason so I had to refrain. I am probably one of the few who prefers to wear my hair down all the time. I do pin up the sides when i go out so that its not all in my face, but thats it. My hair is only BSL now, but about 8 years ago, it was hip length and i still always wore it down.
So one of my reasons is that I like the feeling of my hair brushing against me. It's comforting. . is that so weird? And I want long silver hair someday too. Most importantly, it suits me. I am a flighty whimsical sort of person and my hair should reflect that.
I chose all but the big buns one. I tend to really dislike my hair up, aside from braids.

I definitely want to look like an elf (thanks Lord of the Rings), I want the long flowing silver/white mane (how stunning that would be), I feel as though long hair enhanced my femininity (in a way dresses, skirts, makeup and the like could never achieve), just to show that I have the determination, dedication and patience to do so and I do love the way long hair feels against my body when it's down.
Cousin it as quick lowcost party costume
I intend to be thought elegant, glamorous and extremely vulgar, because nothing is so glamorous as vulgarity, and there is nothing so vulgar as elegance.
i went with the "you want to look like a mermaid/elf/mythical whatever" option, it was the closest. When i was a kid i was really into fairy tales (i suppose i still am) but i never wanted to be a princess, fairy, or any other "good" character, i always wanted to be the evil queen or witch. And those types just don't rock soccer mom bobs! I also want to have long white hair one day, i currently have a good start on that goal. And if there was a "my hair is easier to deal with long" option i would have gone with that as well. Or an "i love hair toys" option, i'd have been all over that.
do people really like the feel of their hair brushing against their bodies? That aspect of having long hair bugs me. My hair is heavy and i can suffocate under it in hot weather. And if i'm sweaty it will stick to me and wrap itself around my arms and generally drive me insane as it poofs outward due to humidity.
Hele, I can only handle my hair down for about 2 seconds in summer... but on the plus side, in winter it can keep me quite warm!
