To be honest I don't think most people would notice a difference between any two buns regardless of what they are (at least not unless they were being asked about it). I think most people know of two hairstyles: "up" and "down" ... no more. We're just special!

I have just passed collarbone length in the front! Woot! I finally feel like I'm at shoulder. I know technically my hair has been at shoulder for a while but it just didn't seem like it was really there.

I'm still a little too short for your everyday bun, Lianna, but hopefully by the end of the month I'll be there.

Resisting the urge to get my layers re-cut! This stage is definitely the worst!

I went through the same thing I even made it to the hairdressers chair... I explained that I’m growing my hair and that the top canopy layer was bleached blond and I thought some layers would help to take a lot of the damage away. She said she didn’t want to cut layers and that I would regret it. She said layers are best when your hair is really long and you want a change. Needless to say I like her and I didn’t get layers cut.

I'm SO close to APL. I think I'll hit it by May. It's APL now when soaking wet, but I loose a decent bit to shrinkage once it's dry. I'm not willing to call it APL until is legitimately APL when dry. SOOOOOOO close!

I noticed, that I feel really uncomfortable with a sockbun. Faking does not feel good to me.

You can try a sock bun without a sock. Looked pretty similar when I did it.

I have no problem with a sock bun...it's just a style, faking to me would be extensions. Long hairs twist their hair to style (most buns), we can fold! (like the sock bun)

I grew from chin to shoulder mostly in a sock bun.

    I like sock bun waves!
You could do the sock bun imperfectly so that some sock shows through...then it's not fake!

My hair is currently the length that you USED to have (collarbone\shoulders). I'm attempting to grow it to APL right now (that's my first goal), then to my BSL. I can't believe you grew yours that fast! But thank you... you've given me hope, lol
