Alright get ready- this one is BAD
found in the underlayer of my hair which probably rubs against my clothes

Huge long split right by my fingers, then THREE white dots towards the ends

I get ones like this from friction too. The 2-3 white dots along a single strand always surprises and frustrates me. How??

Exactly!! Agh it's crazy. Interesting that you notice them along friction spots too!

Tatsu, that's so funny! Beards usually have such coarse hair, I never even considered they get split ends - but of course. You showed some real restraint by not cutting it off then and there haha

I thought the same thing when I saw that my cat had a splint end on her whisker.

If my SO get splits when he has a beard I cut them off as soon as I see them

My ends have felt terrible, they are just full of knots, so I did a mini S&D sessions today, focusing more on knots than splits (though I did find a few gnarly ones!)

These are the two worst offenders. Pic on the left is two long strands that had bound themselves inextricably together. Scissors were the only solution. I had to cut on both sides to release it
