Nope. It doesn't need to be cut. It sheds naturally, several times a year in fact

Some years ago I cut off 8 inches of hair. What a major mistake.

I kept the 8 inch tail as a memento, in hopes that I'd never ever try that again.

Of course I cannot find it now, because I put it "somewhere safe where I'd never lose it"... Pfffft.

Nope, just trims. I only get a couple of inches trimmed off, since I consider a major chop in between 4 and 6 inches (and not counting losing it to chemo, since that wasn't my fault) and I haven't done that in years.
