I just found out that my henna was shipped today! Sorry if I'm spamming or similar, I'm just so excited!![]()
So, I did my second full-head application of henna today.I thawed out the rest of my henna from last month and left it on my head for 4 hours... did a mermaid rinse in the tub, co-washed the rest out in the shower. My hair doesn't look much redder, but it feels great.
I think I will do it again Friday or Saturday night - 4 hours seems to get the job done just as well as 8 hours did last time.

Yay!! Stephichan...get your camera readywe will want pics once you do it!!
Im waiting for an order that shipped 2 weeks ago but USA mail to here takes so long!! Never mind Ive been playing with indigo while I wait![]()
This may be a pretty stupid question, but can you do henna glosses with LUSH henna? And what about left overs, can it be put to freezer like normal henna? I still can't order anything from internet by myself and there is a LUSH-store in my town, so I think it would be better option for me now![]()
Your hair is a lovely color! And it looks so healthy! Congrats. :-)
I have a question... does yogurt inhibit dye uptake of henna? What about indigo?
Soft hair that is nice to sit on - now I'm bragging!
Yup, yogurt is a good conditioning treatment, if your hair likes protein. My hair loves it. I am toying with the idea of glosses, but I don't like to get conditioner on my scalp since a lot of them make me shed. I would like to use yogurt in place of conditioner, buuut I have no idea if henna and indigo would actually work with it. I have heard that lemon juice inhibits henna dye, and I certainly get the fastest dye release from henna when I just use plain water. I don't think tea inhibits stain, and tea is acidic, but yeah... I dunno about yogurt.
I would just try it but I a) don't have much indigo left, and b) don't want my hair to get any MORE red.
yoghurt is really great for the hair, and adds nourishment and moisture to the recipe.
Keep in mind when adding ANY extra ingredient especially yoghurt and conditioners and even herbs you are diluting the henna and it won't be as intense in its dye. Not because it inhibits any dye release, but you are adding something else that stretches the henna out, meaning it isn't all henna, it is now henna with another ingredient. I hope this makes sense.![]()
