I happened to look in the mirror yesterday when my hair was wet, and it looks like I'm less than a couple of inches from waist. I had been thinking I'd be at waist by Christmas, but at this rate, I might get there this summer!![]()
Thank you guys so much! I'm really exited over this. I thought of taking a length shot today, but my curls are irregularly tight (I think I should have rope braided my hair little bit looser hehe), and it made my hair so short! Just the tip of the U brushes waist like that, so I decided to to wait with the pic.
Soft hair that is nice to sit on - now I'm bragging!

Don't feel bad ladies. I set myself back with a 1" badly needed trim. I still have 3 inches to go. Its been 8 months since I hit BSLcan't wait for the summer spurt to start.
Starting overcurrent length: MBL...GOAL: BACK TO HIP
Still have 3 -4" to go as I have to keep trimming the split ends :/ Still aiming at My birthday for waist!![]()
I'm at upper BSL right now, and i was wondering if any of you that got to waist can tell me about how long it took you between BSL and waist and how many inches it is.
Waisting away
The way I figured out length to waist was take a measuring tape and measure your hair as normal but let the tape hang down the back and see what the measurement is at your waist. Its not always super accurate but I get close (with in a 1/2"). Its easier to figure out the number with someone else looking.
The distance between waist and BSL varies between people so there isn't really an answer to how long it will take. If you know how much you grow a month (1/2" is average) and how far from waist is from your current measurement, factor in how much you trim normally and you can narrow down the amount of time.
I am also at 27" and my waist is about at 32". So about 5" which equals about 10 months, 11-12 if I trim 1/2"-1" between now and then. I believe I have done this right...Man that's a long time (and a bit depressing), at least hip on me is only like 3-4" past waist.

I've only got two-and-a-half inches to go, but I'm going through a stall and have had those two-and-a-half inches to go since January![]()

3 or 4 inches to go for me too. I feel like I've been on "lower BSL" for just soo long. It doesn't feel anywhere near like "nearly waist".
All the other stages had little intermediatry milestones; you could include chin, brushing shoulders, behind shoulders, collar bone, APL, upper BSL, lower BSL .... But there's nothing between BSL and waist. Just a lot of lower back. I'm sur my hair is growing. it just doesn't look that way. (a very incurved lower back doesn't help)
