I wonder if you increased your dietary consumption of foods with MSM, if that would help hair growth but without the adverse effects?
Hello all. I was just reading a thread where someone mentioned that many users on LHC had depression while taking MSM. Is this only for oral consumption or have there been any reports of increased risk of depression when applied topically?
Also, does MSM actually work for hair growth when applied topically?
Thanks!

Perhaps...Last year I started focusing more on protein (since I started strength training), and one side effect was that my growth doubled. I travelled for two months and came back and my hair had grown two inches!
I tried looking MSM up and there don't seem to be any links with depression. The main problems seem to be physical symptoms with the gut including diarrhea, bloating etc.
Something you need to be aware of is that MSM is quite a common abbreviation for several very different words, including 'Main Stream Media' and 'Males who have Sex with other Males' and yes, research shows that these people suffer from depression a lot more than average.
Look up the proper word Methyl Sulfonyl Methane on proper sites to answer your questions, or you could be expecting all sorts of weird and unusual things!!!!!![]()
Okay, good! Some people on LHC were saying that they were linked or something. I haven't taken it yet, but just in case, I plan on using it topically rather than orally. I figure that the amount absorbed by the body when applied topically shouldn't have much of an effect.
Supposedly it can mess with your sleep (cause weird dreams / insomnia), and people who are prone to headaches may have worsened headaches from MSM, so those are some things to keep in mind.
