There were a number of negative reviews where people claimed their orders were not shipped out and there was no contact from the seller even though the shop was still open. The average review rating on Etsy had dropped down to like three out of five stars, so I'm guessing Hypnotica's situation was a common occurance towards the end.

I really wish I knew what happened, if he chose to shut the shop down or if Etsy closed it after all of the negative feedback. It seems like the owner just vanished into thin air. Definitely a shame. He was very talented and I had hoped to own one of those beautiful owl forks.

Guys... I think what has happened is, the guy died. I know he was an older man way back when I purchased, and the way this works is you don't get younger every day, you get older... and sooner or later you die. Of course this is just a guess. Nevertheless, I don't think you can blame the man himself. I think he is no longer with us, even though there is no way to find this out for sure.

And I, for one, am super sad about it.

I did notice that Johannes' reputation bombed in recent years (especially here and in reviews), and it's conceivable Etsy had to take action, but I have a feeling Johannes has taken another break as he does. He didn't seem very aged in his Etsy pic (relatively speaking), and often went off into nature at this time of year to collect materials (and his thoughts).

I was going to say....if he did pass away, I doubt it was from old age.

I did some sleuthing and this is the old description from the shop page. He's somewhere around 34. Although I will say my thoughts did go a bit sinister when he disappeared with no contact and the shop disappeared shortly afterwards. Hopefully Crystawni is right and he someday returns to making hair forks again in the future, though I doubt he'll ever be welcome on Etsy again.

I got the money back from PayPal so I'm at least happy that happened.

Just a heads up...I was browsing around Poshmark and saw this.
While it's one of my dream forks because of my love of Owls, I absolutely and sadly cannot swing that much money for anything for myself now.

However, I figured it might be something someone here would be happy to grab if they could! Not sure if it's "one of us" from LHC, but I wouldn't be surprised since they've got a GTS fork up and have sold some and some GTS Antler forks in the past.
