Before, to mark progress without having to take pictures of myself, I would take the typical silhouette of a body with the different hair lengths marked and draw my hair over it. That way I could see how it grew month by month without having to take photos. I don't know if it would work for you or if you would like to try it.

That's a good idea! I have a stick with strings tied to it that I practice braids on--that's how I learned to do a fishtail after years of confusion. Next I'll practice 4 and 5 strands. I cut the strings to a little under my next milestone, so that helps me visualize, too.

You're also very sweet for being so understanding. It's definitely an annoying hangup to have. I know I don't *have* to post any pictures, but I want the freedom to be able to do things like that without fear. That and a few compliments couldn't hurt, I'm sure I'll get a few if/when I do. :P

So.. brainstorm with Ylva, henna, I'm back to growing to waist
I didn't totally give up silver, though.
The plan is to grow out a streak of silver close to face while continuing to henna the rest of roots.
After some time I'd stop doing henna on next section of hair and grow out grey there.
A bit hard to explain, I will post pictures during the process, basically I will be growing out grey in sections

I don't know if you are still doing this, but it's legit genius maybe I should do that with my little pink patch 🤔

My hair is getting seriously close to waist, right?? It's not just my imagination but my longest hairs are within a half inch surely? Or is it more? I was about that close with like 5 hairs over the winter hols, but I couldn't stand the unevenness and trimmed it off
