Love the curly ends!
(Some people's hair is the same from root to tip, but I think the more common pattern is looser up top and curlier as it reaches a certain length, for whatever reason. I've consistently observed this on myself and others with curly/wavy hair, and I think it's just so pretty!)
Thank you!
I like having defined waves to play with, seeing them bounce up after being stretched, plus the curliest and most defined clumps tend to also be the shiniest and softest,
and also the greenest (they're usually in my dyed underlayer, which is naturally the waviest part of my hair -- and I love all shades of green so it's very satisfying).
I didn't know the looser roots/curlier ends also happened with tighter curls, TIL
I'd mostly seen it on looser curls, waves, and even straight hair with a "body wave" that shows up in mid-lengths and ends.
Now I'm wondering whether it also happens with very coily or kinky hair -- anybody with hair in the 4's want to chime in?
As for why it happens, I think it's because the higher up a long strand of hair you go, the more weight it has to "carry" from all the length hanging from it.
Whereas the ends only have to carry themselves, hence they can bounce up freely.
I'd guess strand thickness also plays a part in it, with finer hair being more easily weighed down.
Aw, thanks!
Yes, it's Manic Panic Venus Envy over my natural colour.
Oh, by the way, looking good PWild andBat! Love the grey, and the pink![]()
