They will ruin your natural hair and growth. And they never, ever look real imho.

I would not consider them. When I was in my teens, I got two strands - clip-ins - from a "dollar" store, they were white and blonde. I used to clip them underneath my top hair and then braid my hair, it would show the different color prettily in my braid. But they felt alien and heavy to me. I guess they could be considered as what is known as paranda in LHC terms.

There's some little bugger sitting on my shoulder, whispering into my ear cut your hair to APL, maybe even SL, it will be more manageable and thicker-looking.
So yesterday I actually googled haircuts suitable for thin, fine hair. Good thing is, the fashion websites no longer push only pixies and bobs on us. And every website had at least one or several examples of long (WL or HL) blunt cuts listed as suitable for thin, fine hair. And I thought: hey, what a pretty hair that is! Ladies (models) looked like delicate, ethereal fairies with straight, flowing, thin hair. And then I remembered, wait, I have this hair! So I shoved that little bugger off my shoulder.

This part, hehehe. I very rarely brush my hair since I started following a wavy routine last year, but I still love wooden brushes! They're just so pretty.
And I am admittedly a hair product fanatic, especially masks and oils.

Ugh. I am a fine/thin haired gal. My hair is BSL now and lately I have noticed triple the volumn of hair in my comb. My hair tangles very easily (I have not trimmed it in 2 + years), but I am shocked at how easily it tangles.
I am talking gossamer fine hair.
I finally did a forensic on the hair in my comb. Roughly 40 strands, but MOST of them are broken.
    Any tips to reduce breakage?
I am thinking a trim might be in order here. My last trim was June 30/2022.
    Cheers.

A trim might do the trick, in my opinion. But maybe your strands could use some special attention too? I do not know what your routine is/what products you use. I cannot advise on the topic of "needing more/less of moisture/protein/nourishment to prevent breakage" thing, it is too confusing for me personally, but there are surely so many threads discussing this. When my hair feels dry/brittle/prone to breakage, I use heavier products - protein and oils/butters containing stuff. But my hair is very fine, so after a while those products not only smooth and plump my hair but they also start to weigh my hair down, and then I will switch to basic products without too much ingredients for a while. I cannot use pure oil in my hair as a leave-in, it would be a greasy mess, but a tiny bit of oil applied to wet hair only 1 - 1,5 cm of the ends keeps them from friction and breaking. HTH

I did some reading about fine and thin hair care mine is not very thin nor fine but in some aspects pretty close to this type...
It's generally advised to trim this kind of hair more often because it's so prone to damage and tangling. Of course, layering is a big no-no.
Silicone serum as a leave-in helps with detangling and prevents breakage.
