Hair has grown ALOT this past year and I need to change my basic styles. So, On the lookout for a double ended hair stick for Chinese bun I used to do years ago. Anyone?

Don't all hair sticks have 2 ends?

As I recall, this is a variety of hairstick that has two decorative ends rather than two ends that can be inserted into a bun. The bun is constructed around the stick, since the stick can’t be inserted.

Ah, interesting. I assumed they wanted a hair stick that could be inserted from either end.

Back in the day Lady Idun sold double ended sticks maybe they are doing custom orders? I find their spiralic unicorn sticks also hold pretty well. Maybe that's an option, too?

Double-ended hair sticks are good for every kind of bun, where you have a hair tie for a ponytail first - for instance also the Maureen's Winding Bun. That is important because with such knobby double ends, you cannot grasp very well the hair directly from the scalp, when it comes to pull the stick through the bun, but the hair tie will give you more stability then.

But I have altered one of my hairsticks (the black ebony one with the odd two ends on the previous last picture) from Twistedpinewood, for having one side of the stick quite even until the tip. It is not seen from behind. But all my even double-ending hair sticks I left as they were. I wrap more tightly with double-end hair sticks, so I don't need too much hair directly from the scalp. Knotted buns are ideal for such, like the Celtic Knot, Swirly Bun or a Crochet Chain Bun.

    Lady Idun:

    Twistedpinewood:

The LWB with the LI-stick got a bit out of control. With the Twistedpinewood stick I have made a Disk Bun.
