4 inches is pretty thick! You will need an xl for sure when you grow out.
Maybe not yet since you said your hair is very layered...
I've gotten some very inexpensive ones used on ebay, just to try sizes and such,
You could always get both!
Thank you both for your input! I'm glad to hear that the large might work, based on your descriptions. I didn't really want to get an XL considering how huge it was. I had reached out to Lilla Rose and they suggested an XL but I think it might have been based on the fact that I mentioned I was growing. I'll just get a large so I can be happy now, and worry about getting an XL in the future.

Much love to all my fellow long hair peoples!

I did end up exchanging for a large and waiting for it to arrive. I will definitely check out used ones on eBay though! I didn't want to pay full price for both sizes since it is a little more costly for a clip, but I'm thinking I'll need an XL to cage a bun, even now, since my hair doesn't compress much. Would be nice to have both options. Also the medium was perfect for a half up so might be nice to look for one of those too. Thanks for the tip! After trying the first one, it felt pretty life changing - once I managed to get the clip on, even though it was too tight, it felt so amazingly relieving on my tender which is normally always in pain from any other type of clip.
What does everyone think of the new Eclipse flexi? I've already ordered a couple. They're perfect for helping me see on my way home. https://www.lillarose.com/collection...e-clipse-flexi

Has anyone used the sport flexis? I’m interested in those.

I have one and love it. They're grippy so they don't slip (and I have slippery hair). The Extra is the size I use and am easily able to fit all my hair into it for a pony or braid. It also works well for center held buns. YMMV since your hair is thicker than mine, which is 3.5" and compresses a lot. Different colors are available for the different sizes.

Thanks so much! I’m looking to secure a top knot so I’ll see what size works. The metal flexis tend to slip out of my hair so I’m very interested in the sport ones. Thanks!
