Two weeks passed and so far I didn't change my mind
Salt and pepper coming mostly underneath.

Is that just two weeks of growth, Paulownia? If so, please tell me all your secrets!

And I am looking forward to seeing your journey, the salt and pepper look is so cool

Oh, no its been two weeks since last henna and indigo and since I decided to grow grays.
I did the dyeing a bit sloppy and didn't cover all the roots so there is some silver underneath. This is probably a months growth.

Aah, I was starting to think you had finally found the secret to super fast hair growth! It's still great progress for a month though

I stick to drinking nettle and yeast and using herbal scalp treatments, and scalp peeling once a week

I'm glad you decided to grow out instead of letting your partner decide for you

It is incredibly disheartening to lose progress when you're trying to make the grow out process easier. At this point I refuse to let any peroxide touch my hair at all, no matter how low volume it is.
The plan is to never touch peroxide again; I've been wayyyyy too over exposed. I started dyeing my hair when I was 15, and I'm 36 now. This time i'm quitting for real, lol. I was thinking more in terms of one of those IGK conditioners that also has some deposit-only color.

I know manic panic has a brown range now you could try that, and manic panic doesn't seem to stick to natural hair well it never stuck to mine anyway haha

It’s fun how people can have the complete opposite experience of same brand. For me it stuck as hell on my virgin hair, but did not stuck as well at the previously dyed pars. Which really proves every hair is different. And guess it also depends on how often you wash your hair.

But then again I did leave the dye in for hours before rinsing it out, as the suggested time on product is the lowest time they recommend to leave it. And they recommend longer for a more long lasting and more vivid result.

Growing out natural hair color, whilst dying the previous red parts

We're in the same boat then! I think deposit-only to freshen up the already dyed parts is totally fine from a growing out perspective, and if it does affect your natural hair, it will likely wash out quickly. However, I would do a strand test just to be 100% certain. I think it varies a lot depending on hair porosity and which product is used.
