I don't have a stripy shirt but I'm sure I can take a shirt that I don't need anymore and draw some different colored stripes on it.
These pics were about 10 years ago... Trying again from similar to that short pic.

I got impatient and took my 2-month progress pictures a few days early:

But, I'll do another one later tonight (the proper day) in my striped dress to show any progress as compared to last month's striped dress.

This update will be bittersweet--I have good progress but I need to break my 6-month-long no-trimming streak. My ends are really velcro-y and while they don't actually look bad, they feel like straw. I'll try to trim no more than 0.5" so I don't lose too much progress; that should take care of most of the split ends.

I think I caused the splits to drastically increase by going back to my Tangle Teezer. I really need to throw that away; I keep using it and regretting it. No matter if my hair is dry or damp, oiled or not, the Teezer always seems to increase the split ends when I use it.

This sounds like a fun craft project! I love the idea of different coloured stripes. I actually knit the sleeveless sweater I've worn in the last couple of progress shots - I didn't think about hair growth as I was making it, but the stripes/bands of pattern has definitely made it easier to see growth.

That's some great progress, secret soup - and your texture is gorgeous. Your ends look absolutely fine in the photos, but I guess only you can know how they feel. Do you think you'll go to a hairdresser, or trim yourself?

It's been over a year since my last haircut, and the thought of going to a hairdresser makes me a bit nervous... I think I'm going to wait till it's long enough to self-trim comfortably. Luckily, my hair doesn't seem to be especially prone to splits - frizziness and random breakage, yes, but splits, no! So I'm happy to wait a bit longer.

Thanks, DropStitches! I'll be trimming my own hair; I have a fold-out mirror mounted to my bathroom wall beside my sink. I flip it toward the bathroom vanity mirror, then stand between the two mirrors; that's how I see my back. I even gave myself a pixie cut before! It's a huge pain to cut when it's shorter than shoulder, so I'm really glad it's long enough to pull to the side and trim.

I really wish I could wait but I don't want to cause any more damage. My hair is very prone to splits and it's super-fine.

The longer my hair gets, the more I'm going to have to move away from my mirror to see all of my hair. Time to enlist the husband...

Looks like almost 3 full stripes of growth!

I almost can't believe it, but the stripes don't lie! It's a huge relief to see this progress because of all the issues I've had with my hair over the past 2 years or so. I don't feel as bad about having to trim since I'm ahead of schedule.

Great growth, especially with your texture. And I know about the fine hair. Mine tangles as soon as its untangled and breaks when you look at it funny.
