Hello and glad to be back. Yes, I used to be a member many years ago, around 2012, but forgot my username and password, and my email has changed. So I'm starting again.

I 'dropped' out because life got busy, I had cut my hair really short, and it seemed I was going in multiple directions at once. I've now been retired for a few years, and then stopped getting haircuts when the beauty shops closed in early 2020 because of Covid. I decided then and there I'd grow my hair out again. It used to be almost waist length and I decided to cut it short because I was going through a huge hair loss.

Anyways, glad to be here, good to read inspiring posts from others, and pick up some new tips about taking care of my hair and keeping it long. I just did my first CWC treatment a few hours ago, and really thing that will keep my ends from being so dry. Makes total sense. I generally wash my hair about once a week, or less. Mainly because I lose a lot of hair when I do wash it. I am hypothyroid and even though my meds are adjusted just fine, and I feel good, still deal with the affects of this disease. That's why I cut my hair in the first place, I got tired of seeing so much hair loss in the drain. Still dealing with it, but gonna push through and let it grow for as long as I can. My hair is thick and curly and it doesn't really look thinned out due to the hair loss, so not too worried about it. Heard somewhere it's not uncommon to lose 100 hairs a day.

I also deal with itchy scalp issues. I think it's fungal, but not sure. I have been applying Black Seed Oil to my scalp and it seems to help temporarily. Just wish it would go away. I'm open to any suggestions about that if someone here has found a remedy for it.
