I caved and trimmed about an inch off today.. I was hoping I could make it a year but it's not worth it for me. 2x yearly trims it is! I'm about 3 inches from my goal of 30 for 2021!!!

blessed_momma21 well worth it by the sounds, your hemline now looks absolutely gorgeous! I also prefer to trim a little more frequently and have thicker ends

Just an FYI that your icloud name is alongside the photos you've shared. If you want more anonymity I'd heartily suggest using a private/hidden album on imgur!

The middle area of my hair grew very quickly and is now at waist, while the sides/rest of my hair's at the beginning of MBL. I haven't experienced this before as I usually trim to keep everything even.

When do you call waist? When the majority of your hair is there, or whatever gets there first?

Gorgeous hair! It sparkles! I'd say the trim was worth it

I usually call a milestone when the first layer of hair gets there. I look at those who have reached knee length or beyond as a guide... the call when the very tips of their hair reaches a mark, they dont seem to wait for the taper to catch up.

That said- do what ever makes you feel most comfortable

I call it as the longest strands reach the milestone, especially if I have layers.

I really thought I'd be waist by now, But I think I misjudged the milemarker and it's farther down than I thought. MBL is a true abyss I swear, I'm hoping by beginning of next year I'll be waist I guess haha

I’m finally calling waist! It touches my hands when I put them there after my hair is air dried and in it’s natural texture

It's been awhile since I posted here! I reached waist sometime in April or May but had a trim that took me back to abyss. I'm again at WL after summer and feel confident I won't need to cut away this progress. So I'm officially out of this thread and heading towards hip. Going from BSL to WL took me 1 year and 2 months, with the setback of my spring trim it took 1 year and 5 months.
