Such beautiful waves! They remind me of old Hollywood movies.

Every time I grow I give up and chop because of the stringy ends. Or, if I happen to have the resolve to ask for "just a trim" the hair dresser chops me major... This go-around I'm going to be as diligent as possible.

Thank you!, and the 'joy' of shrinkage, it will be interest to see how long your hair is straight

I used the same colour and it went blue, not sure why it went teal in the first place, I might try purple next

I think I'm a bit past collarbone right now but I'm maybe going shorter when I see a hair dresser (at least getting it neatened out).

    Big chop - 18th August 2021
    SL/15 - CLB/17 - APL/21 - MBL/26 - WL/30 - HL/32 - BCL/36 - TBL/40 - CL/45

More thick, shiny waves! You and pisinoe should start a hair-modelling business

I think your hemline and overall condition look good!

Congrats O.R. At least you can put it in a braid now. Have you ever tried pigtail braids? You know, like Willie Nelson does? It might make it look less puny (and your hair won't escape the braid if it's short).

I'm feeling a little crummy about my hair today. I "wasted" a blow dry (first time in 6 months) to check my growth progress and per usual, my hemline is a joke. Whenever I get to this length all that's left is stringy, sparse strands and it looks terrible. Inevitably I go for a "trim" that hairdressers turn into a major chop because they see barely anything on the floor when they cut off an inch or two. I swear my growth cycle is like 2 years, and any hairs that happen to go past shoulder are few and far between. 2-6 is supposedly normal. Sigh.

October will be a full year since I've gotten a hair cut. I might have to brave a salon again for a hem-thickening trim in the soon. I'll do my best to ignore, ignore, ignore to hold it off as long as possible.

These pics were about 10 years ago... Trying again from similar to that short pic.

If you mostly wear it curly, I feel like you can get away with a less than perfect hem, so maybe if you had a friend or family member you trusted to do the trim? I had my mom trim mine last time I visited, because I knew she wouldn't take off more than I wanted. I ended up having her take off three inches, putting me pretty solidly back to shoulder, because I had so many splits, but she checked with me for each inch.

Wow so much beautiful hair since I've been gone

I think I'm getting into that final stretch, as it seems my hair does just barely reach APL when wet and stretched to the max.
I don't call it until dry but that should only be a few months longer... Wow!!
    Just trying to get by
