I just did a SMT yesterday, and my hair is now poofy beyond belief! Too much moisture? Anyway, think I will return back to a more minimalist haircare for now![]()

Lets see how long this little lump can get. Viva la natural!Lady Nemetona, Adept of the Henna Flame in the Order of the Long Haired Knights
I've been looking for an excuse to buy some aloe vera gel, now I have one yey 😊. I've been doing store bought hair masks every wash and while my hair seems to have improved (overall condition) my ends are still quite dry. Can't wait to try Snowymoon's Moisture Treatment
I did this for the first time today! My hair was definitely soft afterwards, but it was the same as any time I deep condition. I couldn't tell a difference from adding the honey and aloe. Maybe it wasn't noticeable because I have a moisture heavy routine already.
I've been modifying my SMTs by adding JCBO, argan oil and flax seed gel instead of aloe (when I have it around) lately and it's been working very well for me.
Right now I am on hour 20 of a modified SMT with JCBO, and Argan Oil. I'm excited to rinse it out and enjoy some extra shine.
ETA- I forgot this one has ghee and sunflower oil in it as well which I have never added to an SMT. *fingers crossed*

Please, can you recommend something to use i stead of honey!
I'm vegan and I'm looking for something else.
Thank you!
My guess is that glycerin might work as a substitute for honey. Perhaps also agave.

The first time I tried this it made my hair shinier than usual but also a bit puffy and more prone to tangling. This might have been due to to conditioner I used (I can't remember the brand, it was something I found in the back of my bathroom cupboard) or it might have been too humid outside and contributed to a moisture overload?
Even though the result of my first try wasn't perfect I really wanted to try again when it wasn't so humid outside. So the second time around I used Maui Moisture coconut milk conditioner, Lily of the Desert aloe gel and plain liquid honey I get from Costco. I left if on for about four-five hours. I was really pleased with the results this time as it made my hair soft and shiny, no tangles at all! I'll definitely be adding this to my routine when I have the time.
