Default To dye hair over faded indigo

    Hello everyone,
I really grew tired of my two toned hair ( jet black roots) and faded ugly indigo ( with a lovely grey cast).I was wondering would it be safe to use Hi color dye over it or no , for those who don't know its a red hair dye for dark hair , would it be ok to use developper over old indigo or will i create a monster? Please help

Standard advice: strand test first. Always. Henna and indigo are both mercurial enough beasts that it’s worth testing somewhere that isn’t your scalp.

But in general, putting dark colors over indigo (even with developer) is fine. Bleaching out indigo is where the trouble consistently crops up.

I had issues with hair dye over indigo. It turned green (aka a matte black).

So heed the advice given: strand test, preferably on shed hair!

Ha, nothing wrong with that! Makes it less likely of doing something you’ll regret...and hair continues to grow in the meantime...win-win

    Sounds good

(If you do decide you want to try colour again, is there any reason you can't just redo the indigo on your lengths? Your post read to me like the main problem is it having faded.)
Length goal well and truly met, now just seeing how it grows ...
Picky scalp but easygoing hair, thank goodness
