Yes - where my skin bends is at the bottom of my rib cage on the side! That’s a little above my navel but I’m stupidly tall so I don’t mind going above that.

I’m in such a rut with my growth at the moment. I was doing monthly measurements and taking a photo with the tape measure, and I do see the growth this way, but I dunno. It must be the cold winter weather making me feel less motivated, but I think I need to have a bout of benign neglect. I just feel like waist is taking FOREVERRR. I thought 30” would be waist, then I realised (as I’m sitting just a smidge under 30” now) that about 32” will actually be waist on me. Anyway, the mid back abyss has got me good, so I think I’ll tune out from my length until the end of winter (end of August), and just continue with my S & D as I have been. I’ll get back to lurking everyone else’s success photos here and try to focus on other things for a while!

I do have a solid goal now, though. I’d like to reach tailbone by February 2021, when I’m due to get married. Surely I can get there in 1.5 years?!

Little healthy lol you sound like me. I'm tiny... and the mid back abyss is insufferable. At the moment it's taking way too long to get to waist. I thought I'd be there by April, & that didn't happen. It's the end of May and I'm still not still not there. So just like you I'm waiting till August hopefully I'll be past it by then and it's nice to know that in August it's my hubby's birthday so that'll be a nice little treat for me to wear my hair down when we go out and have it look all pretty.

I'm with y'all at being frustrated with the mid-back abyss. Waist for me is 32''. I think I'm close to 30'' right now, but I get a different measurement every time I measure, meaning I can't actually call 30''. The other day I measured and got 29'' again, like I lost an inch overnight, so the reality is that it's probably somewhere around 29.5...where it's been for two months solidly now.

Either way, it's not long enough, and it's not growing fast enough. Only a few more inches left, yet they are taking forever. Over winter, I was getting growth of an inch a month and everything was great. Now, it's as though I need three months to grow a half inch (only a slight exaggeration... ).

But either way, I'll probably still get to waist before Christmas, which I did not think possible a year ago, so I'm trying to be patient.

Larke, we're stuck in the same place. I measured today and I am officially in the mid-back abyss. I'm hoping we can both get out of it soon!

Cool! We are thinking of getting married in summer 2021 if my growth rate is average though, I worked out that I might make tbl by Christmas 2020 (Ylva made a thread about it : https://forums.longhaircommunity.com...d.php?t=149604 ) which blew my mind. If you’re not majorly trimming, you might get there faster than you think too.

Yay for being stupidly tall *with* long hair! We shall be glorious

ETA: read your post thinking spring, when you wrote Feb - so yeah you’re likely spot on with timings all being well!

I'm floating around the mid back abyss as well. Being tall really does make these milestones take forever. I last measured at 31.5 inches and waste is 33.5 inches on me. So it looks like a few of us should be hitting waste around August/September.

Tinyponies, I had the problem of moving measurements with bsl, where I didn't measure right the first tinge, it's definitely frustrating.

Oh cool, yes well Feb is summer for us here, so we’d both be getting married in our summer of 2021! We are getting married at home and need time to landscape outside, it’s like a logging area out there right now ... yes I don’t plan on any major trimming, just maybe a few micro trims between now and then, doing yearly no-trim challenges with plenty of S&D!

It definitely gets harder to measure too, once you get past BSL and so your tape and the hair are hanging in mid-hair away from the body behind you! My tape twists and then I can’t see when it says haha.

Edit: I meant mid-air but I’ll just leave that there
