I measure my dry length rather than stretched length. I promise I'll take pictures of the back of my head from now on
Welcome, hinabelle! More beautiful curls to admire!

Personally I only use a blow dryer in the winter, especially on the scalp area as I can't stand wet and cold hair, but I use a low heat setting.
haha, thanks! It's nice that we can confess here, and celebrate these things without being estimated as obsessed (because we aren't )
I put dry towel on my neck and shoulders, and then let my hair on it, because I also cannot stand wet and cold hair on my neck. I did that even when I used blow dryer (the air seems colder if my hair is wet)

So it looks like I am going to be in this thread for a while longer than I had thought. I had a trim and my hairdresser put some long layers in which has made my hair unmanageable. I can’t do buns anymore and my braid looks a mess with all the sticky-outy bits.

The shortest layer is about 1.5-2 inches shorter than then hem. I am trying to decide if at my next trim (10 weeks away) I should just get it blunt so that all the unmanageable parts are gone or if I should even it up more slowly. Either way I will be here a minimum of 5 extra months beyond whatever it would have been.

I commend you on your patience, I often do wonder if my hair will ever reach a point where it grows down instead of out, but I fear that day is many years ahead. I'm sure I'll circle back around to this thread when/if it does though happy growing!
Thanks! Truly, my hair is still growing out instead of down... it's just that I've finally found some products that I can use to wrangle an extra centimeter or two of length from my shrinkage

What a compliment! I very much appreciate it I'm very happy for you deciding to give up the hair dryer. Your hair will thank you for it!

Thank you! I'll be here for a while... it took me 4 years to go from essentially a buzzcut to CBL. I estimate another year and change for APL

Your are most welcome, hinabelle. A buzz cut to collarbone length is quite the journey, congrats!

I will be here to keep you company.

So, I have been hoovering with APL quite a long time, I had reached it several times and trimmed back. Now I'm there again, with a good margin, so I'll call it and graduate to the next thread, because I have no plans to trim my hair in the near future, and when I'll do, I'm gonna keep it below APL.

There's a picture too, sorry for the bad quality, I would have done this already for some time ago if it was easier to take pics. And I had to mess with the light and colours to make my hair visible.

I have heard the mermaids singing... and I do think that they will sing to me...
