Your hair looks lovely and your hemline is so nice and thick!
I agree, this phase seems to take a long time and its an odd length but I honestly think once we hit APL it will feel like "long" hair (perhaps not by LHC standards) and we can all just enjoy the length and the new updos that become available to us! For me once I get to APL, I can just take a breather and stop obsessing over length...I think lol.

Well, in case this makes you feel good, I think you are almost APL and I am jealous! haha, would love to be that close to my hairgoal. And I totally feel the same als BerrySara that once we have reached APL we can stop obsessing about lenght and start taking care of our longish hair. APL is very long for me, and everything else would be magic!

    Hi!
I'm new here, and this is the thread I belong to

My hair was mid-back length a year ago but it was very damaged. I wanted to grow it out but a few months later I cut it to shoulder length because I realized it's better for my hair and that I won't enjoy my long yet fluffy and damaged hair at all (I couldn't even wear it down!) so might as well. I cut it in June and kept cutting every month until October 28th, 2018 which is the last time scissors came near my hair.
Honestly, I hate my hair right now. I keep it in low buns since I cut it and I hate looking in the mirror. My hair textures looks horrendous in this length. Every strand goes to a different direction, so I still can't wear it down.

My hair does reach APL but only when stretched. I never straighten my hair so I decided to call my length by what it's like naturally, and right now it's right in between shoulder and APL. Hopefully as it grows longer it will also weigh down and look longer relaxed.

I plan to not trim for at least 6 months post big cut so I'll get all the growth I can. Almost 4 months down - 2 to go I will include pictures in the future!

Good luck to all of us!

I forgot to mention the reason I kept cutting it was because my hair was bleached. I kept cutting it to get rid of more color and have most of my hair be virgin hair. Last time I bleached my hair was around December 17' -January 18'.

Looks like this is where I belong, I'm currently at shoulder length and growing out a bob.

Looks like we are in a similar situation. I had a big cut and now it's much healthier but I have a long way to go to my goal. I'm also not cutting my hair. Good luck!

Thank you! I agree, it's such an "in-between" length and seems to last forever, and every inch makes a difference!

I find the best way to get through it feeling like it is taking forever is to look back at how short it used to be, 2 years ago my hair was barely at my chin so when you compare it in that way you can feel good about how far you've come!

Happy growing to you! I am in a similar boat with only wanting to call it when my hair sits there with it's natural wurls, soaking wet my hair looks so much closer!

Not trimming for 6 months is also my plan, I've never gone that long before so hoping I can make it and see some significant growth.
