I think I have another three inches until APL. I have never been able to get my hair to APL in my adult life. I'll feel like my hair is sooo long when it gets there (I think). But sometimes I'm afraid my terminal length is something SL. (Is that possible? If so I'll be so sad ). I'm trying my best to protective style and use low maintenance to get my hair to this goal. I think my mega broad shoulders only make it more of a distance. APL and MBL are practically just a couple of inches apart for me... lol.

I'm hoping to be APL by Christmas 2019. I'm debating trimming a half inch for the new year. Not because my ends need it but because I have a side shave and if I trim 1/2 inch once a year it'll be caught up in 4 years and I wont have to cut a large amount at once to make it even. (I'm not sure if that makes a lot of sense the way I wrotw it. But running on 3 hours of sleep it correct lol)

With or with out the trim I'm certain I'll be APL by Xmas 2019.

I think I have about 5 inches to go, so about 10 months - more if I trim. This is a really good length because I can set and forget, as much as I want it long NOW it's definitely not as painful because that awkward stage is gone and I don't need bobby pins anymore (luckily because I lost them all haha)
I still look in the mirror and laugh at how thick my mop is, but I know some people would kill for thick hair so trying to embrace it

Hi everyone! I've made it to shoulder
I was apart of this thread a few years ago and ended up chopping to pixie over the summer of 2017. In the past I have loved having short hair and I was really surprised at how much I missed my hair. I've been growing it out officially since November 2017.

This is my hair washed, air dried, slept on and brushed.

The last time I was apart of this thread I was really obsessed with my hair and I am happy to say that hasn't been apart of my experience growing my hair out this time. I'm a huge fan of benign neglect, wearing a hat, not looking at my hair and being surprised once a month when I take a new picture, Lol I say my goal is APL because I have never had hair that long but my real goal is to be able to put my hair up comfortably in the morning and not have to re do it multiple times. My hair is quite thick so it might be a while.

Aside from a few trims (mullet stage), I haven't done much with my hair in a year. I had a professional trim at the end of July, said no to having my hair thinned out. I'll have another trim in the spring

    Happy to be here!

I have the age old ooh I think its there but I'm not sure, the fronts maybe there, - it looks about arm pit when its straight and not wavy....

What this tells me is I've definitely surpassed shoulder!

When I start wondering, 'am I nearly at bra strap length? It kinda looks like it sometimes?', that's when I'll know I've definitely reached APL!!!!

hannabiss and MissMuse I’m on a similar schedule to you. I have 5 inches to APL and I need to trim along the way so it’s looking like the end of next year - I hope! I’m enjoying this stage though so I don’t feel too impatient

Welcome to the thread olivetime, your hair is so shiny and glossy!

OhSuzi it sounds so close, are you going to call it or wait until you’re sure?

So, 2 months and my hair doesn't grow at all. Now it has grown 2 cm in one month. Crazy hair, I can't trust you at all.

    Oh, I'm so near now.
