So my hair measures 21” stretched which is what I most recently measured to be APL on me, but if I go by towel test measurement length it looks like I need 22.5” to reach. Kind of bummed as I thought I’d be able to call it by the anniversary of my big chop (Nov 19th) but it does look like I’ll make it by the end of the year

so that’s nice

Kph12, looks great! Definitely by Christmas you’ll be able to call it straight

I didn't realize you cut your hair. I always thought your hair was really pretty, but it looks like its growing back so nicely. Is that your natural hair color? You don't look too far away from APL to me.

As for me, I rarely take progress pictures at this length which is just resting on my shoulders, or skimming my shoulders when its freshly washed and wavy. I have a long long way to go. I estimate close to at least 8 months to get to APL, possibly longer.

ReadingRenee, yep I chopped last year (and have been less active lately, whoops). I cut 17 inches of mostly bleached hair off after beings frustrated with the damage and it is indeed growing back nicely! The color is my natural strawberry blonde but with a slight cassia/henna gloss (barely any henna) over it all. So slight I keep going 6 months between glosses cuz I don’t notice a difference in the roots, so basically it’s my natural color I suppose. It helps that there was natural light coming in because my hair is always redder in sunlight anyway

I haven’t taken regular progress photos in a while, just whenever it’s been long enough I’m sure it’ll be a jump between that and th previous one. I’m just busy and rarely home with fresh, carefully air dried hair when the lighting is good. And not seeing enough progress through photos (my hair is a little wavy/flippy and I get about and inch or inch and a half of shrinkage due to that, apparently) can be discouraging to me. I prefer to take hairstyle photos as I find those more enjoyable to view, and save progress or length photos now for “special occasions” (when all the stars align and I feel good about how my hair looks, and manage to get a picture before I need to put it up for work or whatever)

I really like your natural color, I think its really pretty. I grew out bleach damage when I first joined LHC and I did eventually have to make a big chop. It seems like bleach damage is just too hard to overcome sometimes. This time around my hair had a little dye damage but nothing too major, I just wanted a change. Oh well, I definitely got that!

Thank you! Yeah sometimes it's best to let the dye damage go, and it was for me at that stage (it was tainting my enjoyment of the length). Sometimes longer isn't necessarily better, and a change needs to happen. But the change was good for me, and I'm happy I did it even if I am ready to grow on again now.

BTW I love your curls at this shorter length too!

Oh thank you! That is a nice thing about shorter hair, I can play with the texture more.

Is it okay if I jump onboard this thread? My hair is BSL when stretched, but in its natural state it's definitely more APL. I'm stuck in a weird grey area between threads.

It is only up to you weather you call your milestones stretched or unstretched
