That didn't fix it, I don't think. Gah! I used that Splat stuff that's supposed to wash out in 10 washes. It was okay, but not great. Smells good, though.
ETA: I think I got it now. Thanks for the help!

Sorry for late answer, but thank you so much guys!![]()
Couple of pages back, but _fred_ I use Boots own ribbon ties. They're good quality, I tend to loose them rather than break them. I'd definitely recommend them if anyone is looking for that type of thing.
Hello!! I'm back here after many, MANY years of absence, and boy have I been BAD (but no regrets, lol).
2009-2014, I grew my BSL to a glorious hip length, then had it snipped to waist length and balayaged a dark ashy blonde.
Then I got bit by blondorexia HARD and had my hair snipped to BSL and bleached entirely platinum white (and this is working with black-as-sin Asian hair). It took me 9 rounds of bleach over several months! So you can imagine the condition of my hair then (thank god for Olaplex).
Kept the bleach up from 2015 to 2017 (root touchups every month!!), had fun with colors like baby blue, silver, lavender but mostly Targaryen platinum, while my hair got increasingly shorter.
Last year I had the crazy idea to shave one side of my hair.
Regretted THAT move a few months later, so I chopped my hair into a shoulder-grazing bob to grow it out.
Decided to grow the bleach out and return to my virgin black hair again.
So at the start of this year (2018 ), I chopped my hair into a lip-length bob instead.
Right now the bob is just grazing my shoulders. The top 6-7 inches from my scalp is jet-black. The bottom 2-3 inches platinum blonde. It's grown out enough that the two-tone effect kinda looks deliberate, hahhaa (the first few inches of regrowth is just hot-mess skunk territory and I'm glad I'm past that).
Frankly I'll be happy to reach BSL again, but it's this stage that's the hardest to me!! I can't pull all my hair into a ponytail (the area where I shaved off is now around lip length, so I have a whole section that can't reach the elastic), which sucks because it'll be so much better if I can just ponytail it away and not think about my hair instead of having it in my face all the time!

Thank you! I'll take a look for them, I think I've got enough points on my Advantage Card I could have a free pack of hair ties...
Hi thereWow, that's an adventure! Sounds like you had fun with it. l hope you won't be at the difficult stage for long.
Found a random hair comb today (the kind for french twists I guess?) and I love it! I never tried using a comb for updos before, but it works really well and now I can put my hair up without hair ties woo! That's one of the things that's been bugging me most about shoulder length.. Also got me thinking about claw clips too, I always assumed they were damaging for some reason but then I read a bit about them on here and sounds like they aren't.. might have to get one now![]()
Back into that “Oh hey it feels long and I can bun it” stage again. Feels good (: I treated myself to a new hair fork and pins and they should arrive tomorrow. Just feeling very optimistic and happy with my hair lately.![]()
I'm just about collarbone or so right now... don't know where this growing will take me. I've been dying it various shades of red for many months now, but I'm naturally a dark blondette. Can't find my signature shade of red yet. Love the colour henna can give me but I really hate henna. Oh well. C'mon APL!
In a grow and cut cycle...
Most of my hair toys are from when my hair was waist-long so nothing works on my hair right nowBoo~ And then there's that whole section where I shaved it last year that's cheek-length, so I can't even ponytail without a whole bunch of bobby pins holding that section up.
At the rate my hair grows hopefully I'll get to APL by New Year's. I'll get there. We'll get there. So to everyone in here: happy growing!!
