Thank you guys
I have some bun waves in the pictures lately - they seem to hold a little longer for me now that I use leave-ins and diffuser.
They fell flat after few hours today, but it's second day hair and already getting bit greasy.
Hey there! I bun all the time at this length and have since probably APL.
- the lazy wrap bun with 1 finger only (more eats up too much length!) is my go-to at this length. It stays with a stick, no problem. But took a little practice to learn to get tight enough. Keep trying!!
I also buy double-pointed aluminum knitting needles and bend them around something ~ 1/2" in diameter (or 3/4" ish) and will use more than one of those to hold something like a cinnabun. You get like 5 out of a pack of needles and I like that better than just bobby pins if I need extra hold.
I do have rather a lot of hair that likes to 'unwind', so sometimes it takes a few tries to get one that stays - it also always stays better with a little texture than if I blow-dry it straight.
Do you have layers as well? I do - and it tends to make mine 'spriggy' occasionally, but sometimes a little easier because I don't have so much thickness at the end.
Good luck!

Thank you guys

I also tried to put my hair up in a bun. Not quite successful yet. I find it difficult to tuck the ends in. Some patience and practice needed!![]()
Try a disc bun! I’ve found that the sectioning makes it possible for my iii hair (4.25 circ) when I still can’t manage most other buns. My hair is a bit longer than yours (~30 in) but being a ii and depending on whether you have layers or not, you might have some luck with it. I’m hovering just above BSL so I haven’t graduated to this thread yet, but hope to see you all soon!
Short... SL... APL... MBL...Waist... Hip... Tailbone... Classic... Knee...
Thanks ladies.
@Ophidian - I watched a video on how to do a disc bun and it's too hard for this newb. I do like it though and will try eventually once I've mastered the easier ones.
My hair thickness is up for debate. It depends on who's measuring it. So I really don't know if I'm a ii or a iii. Need to let hubby do it again.

Currently Shoulder length~06/2018!
Nycelle it is still a nice messy bun, as if you did it on purpose.

I think that's looking quite nice! The ends are always an issue for me.... I thought of this the other day but forgot to post it - here's another one that has always been easy for me - it looks a little 'messy bun' like but works well!

(...takes a deep breath...) I'm finally ready to join this thread!!! As of mid March, my hair officially reached & surpassed BSL. I never thought it would happen, & it took me a full month of checking & rechecking to accept that it was REAL!!! Now, it is time to set the next goal: reaching WL. Now that I've gotten the 'hang' of babying my hair & pampering my scalp, I'll lose less hair to damage from doing dumb things. Here is my official first (for this new goal) BSL photo: [IMG][/IMG]
