Twin rope braids

Mini goals: BSL braid ~ WL braid ~ HL braid ~ Crown braid
Shoulder length is by far the most annoying length, at least to me! It gets better as soon as it pass collarbone length, but it getting caught in things can only be prevented by wearing it up.
Looks good! You did a way better job than me making rope braids, I never uploaded any photos of my attempts other than the one I have as avatar.![]()
Gorgeous! I do love rope braids. I've watched tutorials, but haven't had a go with them yet. I need to soon...
Agreed! Trip, I can sympathise with the annoyance of getting it stuck in things, and having it just flap around where it's constantly in the way. I've been loving being able to tie it back and have everything contained, then let it down when there's no danger of it getting caught in anything.
Is anyone else feeling like this milestone is taking forever? Especially having so much flippiness and some wurls grrr
I started out at shoulder last December, felt kind of like eternity but it's finally at bra strap! My goal is mid back by June
Still just tickling shoulders - Got to the stage where hair sicks to lip gloss / I occasionally inhale or eat my hair - erch!
On plus side I can put most of it up in a pony tail / messy bun - especially handy when it's greasy & I don't wanna wash it - plus this reduces the amount of hair that ends up in my mouth!
It's prob still growing at the same rate, just the distance (at least for me) between shoulder and arm pit is about 5 inches - so that's gonna be about 10 months - and there's not that many defining features in between, like hitting brows / eyes / nose / cheek bones / chin etc.
Check your hair length against a stripey t shirt to see the progress more clearly?
Or wear it up & forget about it for about 5 months?

Hair tomorrow, hair yesterday, but never hair today!
Wearing it up and forgetting about it is one of the best things I learned on here. My family still doesn't think I can grow long hair because I'm known to grab the scissors and chop off my hair in moments of frustration. Now I just put it in a bun or a roll, I don't see the length, I don't see every tiny damage, just my new grown healthy looking roots. I'm happy with what I see, my hair is happy in a protective style... every one wins! And no hair sticking to my lip gloss... I've had that happen plenty of times. I wonder if the lip gloss would have moisturising properties for hair
