It feels like no matter how hard I try , I still end up finding some splits everytime i pick up my hair and look for it. Kinda frustrating but I will keep on growing. Happy growing , ladies and gents.
Your almost there that's great. What's you routine, is there room for improvement there? And do you wear it up a lot? If you are already doing everything there is to do just keep growing and S&D those splits out. Looking forward to seeing your picture in march!

Suze, that is awful! I hope you are better soon.

This is after washing, at its curliest, and so close to waist... but not for a few more months. I really have no concept of where hip is, so I don't know what milestone I'll judge by after waist lol.

Your longest curls look sooo close to waist! Hip is often measured at the top of the hips, can you feel the top of your hip bone below your waist? Only you can actually know, but I would guess hip on you would be a bit below your elbows, maybe 3ish inches below waist? If you can't find your hip bones, then you can measure by your back dimples if you can find those, my back dimples line up pretty much exactly where my hips are. Or, you can just consider the top of your pants "hip length".

Thanks, that helps. I can feel my hip bones in front, but it's hard to tell from the back exactly where that is. I think top of pants is a good idea. Waist is my goal, so I don't care too much where it's at beyond that, but I do enjoy being in the milestone threads.

Yes, I get what you mean by that. When I think of the months it's going to take me to get tow waist and then trim out the layers and damage it seems so long. Really annoys me. So I try to fucus on keeping my hair as healthy as possible instead and do some new styles if I can. And of course buying a hairtoy or two doesn't hurt.

Other then that I'm not doing so well healthwise, but it helps to have something to distract me a bit from all that.
I'm really sorry you're unwell Suze I hope you feel better soon. I was ill this past week with an awful cold but it sounds like that pales in comparison to your terrible earache, so I really feel for you. Also I know exactly what you mean re the pleasant distraction of hair toy shopping! Always cheers me up even just to window shop

wo your curls are coming along so nicely! Hip is also a little hard for me to work out, it's good to know it's measured by the top of the hip bone (thanks draysmir). That means it's a little closer for me

valkyrie keep going! 2cm from your belly button *is* long

Finally finished growing out natural colour!

wo, hip on you is about half an inch (I'm guessing) past your elbow.

Also have sinusitus and had strep troat but that has cleared up. The sinusitus is getting a bit better too, but my head just really hurts. This is the third type of medication we're trying. That's scary right that my body doesn't really respond (well) to meds. This will pass, but I'm pretty down about this. It's more than two weeks now and I was already sick for a week before that. Upside is: extreme wash stretching. Haven't washed it in, lets say, a long time. Reading this board and posting some helps though. So thanks guys! And sorry for complaining so much about this.
    You poor dear

    Get well soon (((HUGS))))

Hi, I am new in the group.
I finally made it to BSL!!!!
The longest my hair has been is WL back in 2014, but I bleached my ends because I wanted the "ombre hair" that was so trending a few years back.
I fried my hair and had to cut it SL
From there I have been cutting my hair and keeping it between SL and APL.
I finally decided to let it grow and give up hair dyes.
So I finally made it to BSL!!!
My hair is 24" right now, and I think I need about 5" to reach WL.
    Can't wait!!!.

Yeah I think there is a lot of room for improvements here . My dyed ends are dry and crispy so I gotta pamper it more , wear it up more and all. I try to quit hair ties and use hair claw instead , I try to handle my hair more and more gentler but thanks to my clumsy hands , still a long way to go . I will S&D my way to hip length and then see if I need a 2cm trim to get a nice and thick end . Thanks Suze , I hope you get better . ^^

Well, it's a journey right? There is always room for improvement I think. Sounds like your doing a good job already. And thank you, I hope so too.

    ---
I keep having this dreams where I either cut my hair and make a mistake and end up with these short 1cm pieces or my hair get caught in something or falls out. Not fun. It's not just hairdreams it all sorts of not so fun stuff. My braids keep getting stuck in my elbows. Used to be my armpits sonat least I know it is growing right? Have this photo of myself from a year back when I went to visit my nephew and hold his precious babygirl for the first time and if I look at that photo I can suddenly see the growth. Took me by surprise. Like that! Maybe because it gives me sense of control. I can't control my body and how sick I get but I cán in someway control my hair. That's why selftrimming is so awesome!
