You should definitely try to get hold of a nice flexi, _fred_! They're pretty and easy to use and thank you, and Arctic too, half ups sure are nice-looking, we all should do them more often!

I've been pretty much the same, Corvana, from my young teens I pretty much knew gold didn't go with my skin tone, but I really did think my hair was warm toned for the longest period of time.

Todays braid was just a normal braid down my back, I think I did it worse this time around

Ever since I've become more relaxed about my hair, I've been wearing it down more - but for work I like halfups, they show the length, my waves and keep my hair off my face. Win-win-win! My favourites are a cinnabun halfup, spock bun halfup, knot bun halfup, and fistail braid halfup.

BTW Estrid, I often braid my dutch/french brain diagonally on purpose, I really like how it looks!

I will try to do a half-up cinnabun when my hair is a bit longer, I've always liked how those look! I don't think I'm capable of doing a pretty one now though, or well, I guess I could try.

I guess it does look good if you continue in the direction you're heading, like an Elsa braid or Katniss braid (really not sure what to call them!), I guess I could try that as well someday. Something tells me that I won't do too good, but hey, I can be quite stubborn!

Lovely!! English braids are my go to because they're so easy to do lol.

My braids today were pigtail rope braids and... I'm super bad at them??

That's the best I got, and it's not terrible (finally), but it's not... amazing. I think part of it is that it's wash day so my hair is very clumpy. I will retry with cleaner hair! But I also kept getting confused with the twisting.

corvana Thanks for the heads up about the weight of flexis. I think I might try a small one and see how I get on. I'm not one for heavy things in my hair - I get paranoid about ripping it out by accident.

I ended up doing a half up with two robe braids. I do like rope braids, but they are one of those styles that I think will look a lot better when I can do them properly.

ETA: I think I'll try out having this photo as my avatar, I don't think I have ever had myself there!
So look pretty! Rope braids are beyond my ability, your's are gorgeous. Defiently a good avatar pic 😊

    Thank you, Fairyxlights

Corvana, rope braids that are not "on" the head are probably really hard to do in a nice-looking way until the hair is quite long, so I think you did a good job! I won't try until my hair is a bit longer than now, I feel that I might need around 20 cm more, at minimum, to do a nice looking rope braid. My layers would probably have to be pretty much gone too, at least if I want to keep them from ruining the braid.

Yeah I figured that'd be the case! But I was happy enough to get them to work for the first time ever lol.
