I don’t how you curlies deal with some of the shrinkage that goes on. However, the upside is beautiful hair, so swings and aroundabouts

Why why why did I cut my hair back from waist. Serious regrets going on.

Oh it's a struggle! I look at pictures and it feels like my hair hasn't grown at all in the past couple of years when I look at it curly. Shrinkage is soooo frustrating! I hear you, it does get disappointing and discouraging because it takes longer to see an obvious difference. I also tend to measure stretched because my curly length varies on the day and curl pattern of the day. Most of the time I'm 3b, but sometimes my hair gets excited and decides to dry 3c in which case of course my hair looks shorter (I'm mixed so my hair just does whatever the hell it feels like). Patience really is key. Also I've sworn off bleach and heat for the next few years because my hair has obviously been growing but breaking off thanks to damaged ends. My focus this year is length retention! Starting December off with a finger detangling and protective styling challenge on here.

Haha swings and roundabouts is right! As for your scissor remorse, I hope it grows back to waist length quickly and healthily!

I'm in the no trimming of 2017 (second half) challenge and am not going to cut after it's done. I'm going straight to the 2018 first half challenge. Had no growth last month so I'm not sure, but if my hair will continue on with growing 1cm a month I will reach my goal of 33inches/ 84cm in august. That is if I don't trim at all. But even if I do I will reach waist next year! I'm starting to feel like this length will actually be possible for me.

That’s tough going waist length being at 33, mines only 28 (I’m a shorty), but waist length on me doesn’t look particularly long. On you it will look impressive

I really hope so. It still feels so short. I know it's longer but apparently I still see this length as not that long. I really hope waistlength will feel long to me. I can deal with it feeling long-ish. Even when I make it to waist I have like 10-12cm of ugly layers to grow out. I don't think layers are ugly but trust me mine are. But maybe I can do a mix of cutting growth of one month and then letting it grow for a month and so on after I reach waist. Then I can gain a bit more length. Hmmmm. I'll just let it be and see what comes natural to me. Some days I tell myself to just be happy I have hair to begin with.

How is everybody doing? (in)Patatiently waiting for new lengths or just enjoying your hair every step of the way? Close or still very far away grom your goal? Do you enjoy different kind of styles or maybe even new styles or do you have a style you wear most days? Just curious and thought maybe it woukd be fun if we shared.

Went to measure my hair, knowing I hadn't measured in a while, just to get the same measurement. I checked 3 times before I remembered I got the longest parts trimmed because they didn't feel like they counted anyway, so it is back to the previous length, but more even.

So close, yet so far. Trying to be patient for this last 2 inches. I really regret cutting back a few months ago, a lot of buns unwind easily at this length.

I'm 1 cm from waist. Decided to skip December trim, so I can call waist after New Years. I managed nautilus bun/artemis bun lately, LWB is not working at all at the moment, mostly I still wear a cinnabun.

    And spock bun!

I've been at waist stretched for a little while, but still waiting for March/April to hopefully be there at my curliest.
