Having one of those days where I'm enjoying my hair, which is nice. It's so weird how it feels long right now, even though it's really not. Took this photo when an updo fell apart midway through the other morning, and it gave the illusion of length. That was pretty awesome.

It's just an illusion though! Also, this is what I'd been trying to do (only I'd also been planning on flipping and pinning it!):

I'm challenging myself to do a braid every day. I want to get better at French and Dutch braids.

I had begun to hate my hair, thinking I regretted cutting it and wished it to be long. Now I love the short length again. Right how I have twin dutch braids for sleeping in attempt to tame all the curly fly-aways that stand up all over the surface of my hair. The hair ties will probably slip off sometime during the night however because I'm a tosser/turner.
I'm so glad you've rediscovered the love! It sounds beautiful. I hope the Dutch braids work

You can do it! I marvel at people whose hair grows like a weed, wish mine did! So I'll sit here in solidarity with you as someone for whom it'll take a little longer.

Thank you, everyone Even though the time is passing so fast that I'm not even aware of what day it is anymore, it feels like it's going slow. I know I predicted reaching apl in november or december, but at the moment it feels so far away.

Putting your hair up without it falling down is nice indeed! I'm still only able to do it with a big jaw clip, possibly a jeterfork (those don't stay up that long though). I should also make myself braid my hair more, I could definitely use the practice (I'm terrible at braiding when I can't see what i do). Your hair looks really good, _fred_! Definitely better at braiding than me.

I feel like so much is going on atm that I'm not really paying attention to the little things. I have however noticed that my hair is definitely frizzier without those styling products I bought, I wonder if I need them both or if I could do with one..

I think my hair growth is about average, around 1/2 an inch a month, but I don't keep track of my growth that closely. I am just focusing on making sure I keep it in good shape while it grows. I'm not planning to cut at least through 2018, I'm already most of the way through '17 and signed up for '18 no trim challenges. I'm not sure if I can go more than 2 years without a trim.

If your hair can handle being trimmed just once a year, you could always trim between challenges. I'm finding my hair is okay with once a year trims and I'm even contemplating not trimming at the end of the '17 challenge and just jumping right into the '18 challenge.

Oh, I'm not trimming between the '17 and '18 challanges, gping to muscle through the year and I'll see how it looks before I decide weather to trim before the '19 challenge starts.

I can't believe there's only 3 months left of this year! My hair is in excellent condition and there's really no good reason to trim before the '18 challenge. I think I'm going to do this!

Thank you You could join me with attempting braids? I'm trying a braid a day, but some days I'm sure I'll just forget. I've not tried any kind of forks yet, they seem like Advanced Hair Magic. I'm keeping an eye on the swap boards though in case one turns up in my price range.

Mine's about that too. I'm doing 6-monthly trims, which is working for me so far. I'd be tempted to go longer, but my ends get a bit uneven after about 5 months.

I sure could join you I don't know when I should be attempting the braids, maybe to the night. In case I end up with an ugly braid it's better to sleep with it than to go to work with it!

And oh, hair forks are kinda like magic Love them more than hair sticks.

I clearly underestimated how much my hair likes summer! Officially calling shoulder length, so I am joining you wonderful people! Length picture won't be until next weekend for continuity's sake, but I excited to be here!

    Welcome!

I'm thinking mine really likes summer as well, since it's started slowing down from my 1"/mo stage

    Maintaining at Hip-BCL for now.
