I had a second round of "purge the crunchies with scissors" and I found quite a few on the shorter layers of my hair. Did you mean "how do you deal with the fact that you can only pull them so far in in your line of vision", because that was a PAIN! Even with a mirror my eyes hurt after a while of trying to look all the way to one side of my head for an extended period. I find that using the mirror and going by feel was the only way to do it and if you have a thick head of hair it's going to take a loooong while, possibly multiple attempts (like me, I can only take about 30 minutes of it at a time).

Just as I feared when I do buns now there are a bunch of pokey sections of hairs but hopefully that'll sort itself out in a month or two; the feeling of stroking my head and feeling a LOT less crunch is too satisfying for me to be mad about it...
If it makes you feel any better, I completely forgot that I asked! Heehee!
Yes though, that is exactly what I meant. ( I'm terrible at wording)
My eyes strain like crazy trying to see the short ends that I pull from the sides and back. I admit, I know I still have splits but gave up.

Eventually when we get some good length, this will be cake!
All this straining will make us pros

This is me. I figure I should be at APL by next fall. I was wondering if anybody braids their hair at this length.

Alrighty. Been a while but I chopped off my nearly waist length hair earlier this year and have maintained at Shoulder length ever since. As I am tired of the triangle shape my hair has taken I believe it is time to just get on with growing. So here I am (again) heading to Armpit length hopefully by mid-year

I can't make one braid without half of my hair falling out, but I manage to make two small ones on both sides

Hello to my fellow 'SL to APL' sisters (and brothers?). I joined LHC today having been lurking for a couple of weeks. My hair has been all lengths between waist and pixie several times since I was in my early teens, but I've never liked SL! Definitely don't want to go back to pixie (I only did that to cut old highlights out) - so the only way is to go longer. Why does it have to take so long?!

I find that it can be done (I'm at shoulder length) - but I'd never get away with it in public!

Hello to emptyque, Brittpit, Emmeline and welcome back to Allychan!

If I can get through the next two winters without buzzing my hair off again, that alone will be an amazing accomplishment.

I'm getting close! I have a striped shirt I use for length shots, and my hair has reached the top of the stripe that ends at APL. Of course, the stripe is one of the thicker ones (the shirt has alternating thick and thin stripes) and I've got a trim scheduled on Tuesday, but I think only a couple more months until I finally reach APL!

I'm proud to say that I have reached APL and met my goal of doing it before 2017 (only just ;P). I'm off to continue my growth journey but I wish all my fellow growers luck and offer them my success to encourage them.

Successfully reached Waist! (only just) and currently letting it grow

Emptyque my hair is slightly above APL, and I can do two braids, sometimes milkmaid braids (start those above the ear rather than below.) Sometims, I do one braid, but those are easier when there's more hair and I can bring it around one side to braid the length.
