Wishing *all* who are growing to APL a great journey. It is hard, was there twice during my time here, and it's not easy. I started from chin both times, and shoulder to APL is *hard*. But ladies, once you get to APL, I can assure you, it is *worth* it. What you can do with your hair at APL is so versatile all of a sudden!
Yes, APL is a wonderful lenght and I sure hope to get there soon, I miss being able to braid all of my hair back and not have it fall apart after 5 minutes, and I know I will be able to do with APL because when my longes layer hits APL my shortest layer will be down my shoulders so it will be way easier.

Now I'll see if I can make it to APL without trimming. Damn, growing out dye + long hair is a looong journey...

Beautiful color! And it looks so healthy and happy!

    Feeling a bit disheartened today

Turns out I need another 5inches to get from CBL to APL, so I'm gonna be here for at least another 10 months.

    This is so painstakingly slow!

Just see it as the time to really get to know your hair and scalp so you can avoid setbacks. Do a style once a month. Play with temporary color. Have some fun along the way.

I'd like to join too. I just had to chop my APL hair to shoulder because of damage from bleach. I'll be continuing to bleach through this process (only the roots) so my progress may be a little slower.

My hair is currently just past my shoulders at 17" and APL for me is 24". So yeah that should take a while. Judging by my roots my hair has grown a little over .5" in the last month, at that rate it should take me 14 months but it only took me about 10 months to get from shoulder to armpit before.

So true! Suddenly I'm noticing ladies with APL hair all around me and I keep catching myself thinking "Oh, her hair is nice and long!" Then realizing it's APL like mine! I know APL isn't very long for a lot of people on LHC but it's an amazing boost when you've been on the growth journey for a while!

Hello, wlecome, and happy growing! I am sure you can do it, and I know you can do it while keeping the bleach (not my own experience but I have seen others who bleached and still kept their lovely long hair, like a friend from uni who told me her secret is to really pamper her hair before and after the bleach). Good luck!

Also I think there is a thread somewhere about growing long hair while keeping the bleach, you may take a look at it if you need any more information/support.

Thank you very much. I tried to search for a thread about growing whilst bleaching but I didn't have any luck finding it. I find that frequent oiling helps is a must with the bleach.
