That's what I plan to do. I'm going to rock my split ends until I hit waist, then start micro-trimming and maintaining. Will probably maintain for 6 months before I start growing again. But I just want to trim a cm in August. Hopefully my hair will be long enough to give up bit more of my hemline

Excuse the untamed ugly mess, but it looks like I am at waist after 2 days in a bun and stretched (at least somewhat more than my 3A/3B normal hair). I still have a ways to go when I'm curly, but progress is progress and I wanted to share this milestone.

I officially declared my hair to be BSL today! I never though I'd make it this far, but here I am! I am starting to want to make it to tailbone someday if I can cope w/ the tangles, etc.!

I have been maintaining at waist for about a year now while I trim out my bleach damage, but last night I bit the bullet and chopped off the rest! No more damaged hair! It is back up to bra strap length now, and it feels so short to me; my head feels very light. It's good, though, because now I no longer have any super-damaged hair to bring the rest of it down. Literally, my hair has just fluffed up overnight. I would like to grow down to hip, so I don't have to cut my hair for another...two years, approximately? Woohoo!

Edit: Wow, I should update my photo. My hair hasn't been dyed for ages.
