I think I am realising one of the side effects of looking at this site a lot...despite the fact my hair is significantly longer than it has been in many years, it feels really short!

Hello all. I'm currently at shoulder with my longer layers and chin with my shortest layers. I can't wait to get to APL!! Then I want to try to get to BSL. You can see my current length in my sig. I am in the 6 month June 2016 - Jan 2017 no trim challenge. It really will be a "challenge" for me because I am a chopaholic. As soon as I start hating any awkward growth stages I cave in and chop to a short bob. I am not doing it this time!!! I am determined!! Happy growing!!!

I'm getting so close to APL! According to my last pictures, another two to three months will definitely do it!

Sometimes I wonder if the 2-3 washes (with non sulfate shampoo) it takes to de-grease my hair is worth the benefit of the coconut oil hair treatment. Thoughts?

Dry and fluffy. I hennaed today, it always makes my hair a bit extra poofy for a day or two. Didn't help that I had the sides pinned up and it makes my head look like a triangle.

@RSunny if you have to wash that many times to remove the oil, then you are using too much. Try only using half of what you are now. Coconut oil should wash out pretty easy. Personally, I get better results oiling damp hair then any kind of pre-poo treatment.

my hair gets oily super easily. If I put oil on damp hair, even just a couple drops, by the end of the day or the next morning my hair is gross and needs to be washed again. Then I'd be washing daily. But I wasn't to protect and moisturizer my hair as it grows.
