Shoulder | Armpit

I belong here. I had a few inches of damaged hair chopped off to just last shoulder. I am desperate to grow to BSL.

I'm just past shoulder too. It seems to be a slow journey but I hope to make it with much healthier hair

And thank you for the compliment about my hair! Yes it's very healthy now, probably in best condition it's ever been. Grown with LHC wisdom from root to tip!

(Although I have to say I am not really belonging in the "treat your hair like old lace" camp, as I don't try to grow very long lengths.)

Let's hope you'll be pleasantly surprised when you see your straight length!

Old lace

that made me laugh. 29th Feb it will be 6 months since my last cut and 4th March 6 months since last heat styling, so I think around that time I will gently blow dry straight as a one off and will of course share the results here.

My hair is definitely apl stretched, and is kissing the tape unstretched. But only at the very tips, so not calling it quite yet.

I'm not shoulder to APL anymore, but I want to cheer everyone on! The journey can be sometimes really boring and arduous, but you'll be amazed at how quickly you blow through these milestones!!

Ah, thanks Maborosi. I'm hoping to make it in about 6 months. Wish my hair was straight so it would grow quicker!

The old lace is pretty good metaphor how some of our members treat their hair, especially if they have baby-fine hair, and/or they wish to grow to very long lengths

Some even say something like "antique table cloth" which always makes me chuckle

Thanks! Your hair has grown fast! I felt uncomfortable too to call APL when it was more on the "can I call this..." region, but i can understand peole doing both ways. Hope you'll reach the tape unstretched very very soon!

I agree with Maborosi (and love it when people outside this thread come to cheer us on!), even if the distance is long, even if hair would grow on the avarage speed, and even with trimming, the time really flies - especially when one isn't hyperfocusing on following the progression of that length.

My growing journey between these milestones took probably more than most will experience but in a retrospect it wasn't that long. The only time is felt like stomping in molasses was when I was observing the length with microscopic focus. SL-APL is one of those lengths where, at least for me, the hair doesn't seem to move for months in time, and then suddenly it seems longer. It's an illusion, it grows all the time time and very soon all of you will be there!

Good luck and godspeed (non-religious) for hair growing to all! (I love that word!)

I guess it's better to ignore it and it then you will realise it's grown but since I had the chop I'm inspecting it everyday! Hoping you can all keep me company in this journey. Always nice to see people achieve their goal xx

This is my third growout since joining LCH (when I first joined, then had two big chops since then). I agree with Mabarosi, it does go fast!

Arctic, my hair grows less than 5" a year. I just disappeared from here for a fair bit after I first cut it, so it was collarbone by the time I came back.
