I don't have the balls enough to straighten it with a flat iron though to see how long it really looks though so I guess I will just have to deal. I am hoping to reach apl by at least this time next year but I don't want to get my hopes up either and be disappointed.
I suspect that my curly swoops are from waves that I would have if I could figure out how to care for my hair in a way to get them to thrive. Because I comb through my hair after I wash it, the waves don't really clump together as they should so I end up with the ends being extra scrunchy wavy to compensate.

Unfortunately, it means that what would be shoulder length hair looks more like chin length, depending on how the swoopies want to behave.

My layers cause my hair to look shorter.

I'm so close to APL, I feel like it's taking forever since I reached SL. My goal is to be there by February.

I can stretch mine to APL, but I hope by February or March I can call it without stretching. And I have joined the challenge of BSL by next Christmas. If I don't make it I should be very close by then.

After my last wash, I measured with a towel around my armpits and I think I have about four more inches to make it to APL stretched. I'm hoping by the end of summer I'll be there!

Hello all! I guess I am rejoining you! I was about 2 inches past APL, and halfway to BSL, but was having horrible issues with breakage and tangles due to the old perm and bleaching out the henna. So I ended up getting it cut today, after debating about it for a month. I am loving it! The hair dresser cut it a bit shorter than I was hoping for, but it is still okay.

I am now about an inch from APL. Because I had so much breakage in the canopy where the perm was, I asked for a few layers. My shortest layer is at my collar. But my hair is so much better! no more rough tangles! I believe I have all of the perm cut out now, woo hoo! Although still experiencing fuzzies and some weak curling... I think one of these days I will have to do a typing poo and pic- suspecting I might be a wavy now.

It looks great! Those ends look fresh and happy! There's nothing like growing out henna, huh? UGH It was the longest year of my life and I finally just chopped it all off!

This is my end of the year picture and it appears to me that I have reached APL! It was great being here. Everyone has been wonderful with optimism and motivation to keep growing. It took me 1 year and 4 months to reach APL from SL and now I am going onto the APL to BSL thread. See you all there! Happy New Year!

Does anyone ever feel like your hemline is holding you back? I feel like if I didn't have a U shape, I'd pretty much already be at APL.
