Shoulder | Armpit

I'm finally able to move from the chin-shoulder thread to this one this month. I measured at 16" on my length shot day. Unfortunately I'll probably lose shoulder status later this spring. I haven't had a single cut minus mullet trims since my pixie from January, so there's this one short layer all the way around my head thats 5" shorter than the underneath. I want solid one-length hair so badly, but right now that short layer only reaches down to my mouth. So I'm gonna try to wait till March or April when it's warmer and my neck won't feel so cold from the loss of length. Either way, I'm here now at least, and its definitely progress =)

Hi everyone. I belong here.

This is the hair length stage where I have always always cut my hair. I get so frustrated with it because it's fine and thin that I just always cut it off. I have been using half head tape extensions off and on for almost a year (I know that's not great) but I am hoping that it gets me past the stage that I just want to chop it all off. The picture below I just took yesterday after taking them out and this is air dried with just some leave-in conditioner and keratin healing oil on the mid/ends. The ends are thinner because when my hair was shorter my old stylist used a razor to blend the ends. My new one does not do this, thank goodness! I am really hoping that I can follow this thread for inspiration not to chop. Sorry the picture is so big!

I couldn't find a chin to shoulder thread so I'm just going to make myself comfortable here

I'm not quite at shoulder yet, but I'm pretty close to it when my hair is straightened. I have a selfie stick on the way, I plan to start taking progress pics once it gets here

Thank you, vpatt. I am very close and I believe that I will reach that goal by the end of the month.

This time, I am determined to refrain from cutting: S&D only. I have the triangle look right now, and I hope reaching BSL will add more weight, so I don't look like a bell.

I guess it's about time for me to mosey over into this thread. To repeat myself from the chin to shoulder thread, last Saturday at a Yule party I kept noticing that I could feel my hair brushing where my shoulders and neck meet. Today I was looking at it, and when it's stretched (it gets little curly swoops at the bottom that make me loose a bit of visual length), it very decidedly does touch my shoulders and then some. I've checked and double checked that it wasn't me holding my shoulder up or tilting my head, it's definitely there.

I think I belong here. I started wearing my hair up again. I used to do that a lot, but I thought it was damaging my hair more than letting it down. Hah! The irony.

I feel a lot happier now being able to wear my hair up and knowing that I'm being kinder to my hair, especially my ends. Hair sticks are my weapon of choice!

Yay! I'm just at SL, excellent Christmas present. Really hoping I'll be able to do some more interesting things with it soon, I'm so bored of a ponytail or claw clip. Are there any decent everyday styles - it's not long enough to bun or braid, & I don't have enough crown thickness yet to do little braids. (Recovering from some serious medication induced shedding!)

Maybe by next winter I'll be able to do an actual bun!

^^^ Curly swoops at the end that cause you to lose a little visual length! I have that same issue. My hair does this weird flip up thing and it looks so ridiculous and I swear cuts inches off of my length when you're actually looking at my hair. I don't have the balls enough to straighten it with a flat iron though to see how long it really looks though so I guess I will just have to deal. I am hoping to reach apl by at least this time next year but I don't want to get my hopes up either and be disappointed.
