I am going to attempt some sock bun curls tomorrow for my 2nd day hair. My hair is the type of wavy that can appear really curly on day 1, but after I sleep on it, it's nearly straight. I think that sock bun curls will work well for me - maybe not at this length, but someday!! I am going to put it in 2 buns tonight to try it out.

Congratulations to all those who've finally made it!

I will have to try and take a photo next time I wash mine - it's hard to guess how long I still have until APL when my hair's dry. And I'm just not good at measuring them, either.

Two things...sock buns do not work at my length. At all. And I need to take a new length pic. As you can clearly see in my sig pic, I did not have my towel hiked up where it should be. I do not have the arms and shoulders of a sumo wrestler, despite what it looks like! ha!

Really? I've been doing sock buns since July or August and your hair doesn't really look much shorter than mine currently. How are you doing them?

I'm still getting tbe stupid ear pieces that fall out of up styles right now, and they massively annoy me. Those and my ex bangs are my trouble makers!

Also, I keep getting a sore spot in my bangs from them being pulled back, though I swear I'm not trying to wear my hair tight! Stupid things.. Lol.

I sorely need to gain a couple more inches to fix my current dilemma.

Probably wrong! Or my sock is too big. I used a man's dress sock - I think I might be able to get by with a smaller sock. I tried it in 2 separate buns, since my bottom layer is not quite long enough to reach up top.

Me too! A couple inches or 6 asap. haha

I don't recommend doing this, but I watched a youtube tutorial the other day where a girl was putting her hair in a bun. To tame the front fly aways, she sprayed them with hairspray, then BAKED them to her head by running a hot curling iron over the top of her hair. Yikes!!
