I think I have reached the length where when I put my hair up with a claw clip, most of my bottom bits stay in! Still need to pin the fringe back though. Yey! However my hair looks ratchet down. all the messy layers and the fact that the fringe is still too short to tuck behind my ear, and the whole thing just isn't presentable. I think I might consider wearing hair up challenge for a month or a few. But I want want want more hair toys, so I can switch things around! At the moment all I have is a handful of elastics (the evil metal clip ones)and bobby pins, a handful of small U pins I have no idea how to make use in my slippery hair and a single claw clip, and stationery instead of hair sticks, if I feel really desperate. And a tacky red plastic headband... Drooling at the pretty things you ladies here stick in your hair

Hi everyone!! I'm new around here, just past shoulder length (18") and freshly dyed back to my natural brown after abusing with highlights for years (the shame...I know!) I am looking forward to sticking around for support and ideas as this whole "being nice to my hair" thing is relatively new to me

It's great to meet you all! Can't wait until I can post pics so I can get your advice! The first "two week experiment" I'm doing is the CWC with Tresemme Naturals and a clarifying shampoo. Trying to keep my washes at least 2-3 days apart. It's hard work but I am excited to start the journey to long, healthy locks!

I am an old member returning with a pixie growing out. I do not know how long it will take to get to shoulder length so bask in what you have achieved. I was almost to waist length when I got a bad color. It looked like BBQ sauce. I used color remover about 6 times. cutting it all off was my only alternative. Does anyone know of a thread on starting over from very short hair. strawberryfine

I won't cut my hair, but I wish it would grow faster.....I just need to chill and think of other things and stop obsessing.

I made a tutorial for shoulder-APL length hair, I hope you will try it out and give me feedback

(I also added it into my blog, where I have more style ideas for this length.)

I fit here now. Chopped my hair off in February to a few inches past my chin, after having it around armpit-bsl length for about 5 years. I have a probably pretty common cycle of keeping long hair for about 5 years, and then chopping. At least this time I didn't chop too short. My thick, wavy, hair grows pretty quickly. I am not doing a ton special, using Lee Stafford's Hair Growth Treatment, taking Biotin when I remember, and washing every 3 days. (So I wash one day and wear for 2 more.)
Well, I am pretty pleased! I was SL 2 months ago, and today I am CBL. My hair seems to be growing faster now that it is summer, plus being summer I rarely have it down or fixed so when I do, it feels long. It is finally to the point where it "feels" long to me. What's even better is that my ends look great.

I think I might put my hair up for a month. I have been trying to encourage waves...but I don't think I need to bother if it is staying up.

Ok.....in an effort to stop my obsessing I measured my back. So now I know that my biggest/longest goal is to reach APL (how did I not know that?) and that I will reach waist length in about two years. For some reason that calms me. I used a ruler cause the tape measure was really hard for me. I get my daughter to help measure the whole length....I think that will be easier for me when it is longer. I have to post this here cause who else can I tell that wouldn't believe me crazy?? Now I think I can settle down more and just try to take really good care of my hair and complete the challenges I have joined. And I know I may have mismeasured a bit and that my growth may not be as much each month.....but I have a time goal now ....2 actually, and I feel like I can settle down and not feel so agitated...lol, I know I'm crazy. And 2 years ago the back of my neck was shaved and my hair from my nape to the end is 10". So 5" per year with trims is not so bad. Ok, I am officially chillin' now.
