Pixie to APL in 20 months isn't too bad right?! I gave myself a trim on Sunday too so I shouldn't need another until september most likely (but I do have a bad habit of overtrimming in the summer). I'm super excited to hit another milestone!
From pixie to APL in 20 months really would really be amazing! I'm rooting for you! (pun not intendend, haha).

Congrats on soonto-be graduation! Mine is not hopefully too long ahead either, I am aiming for the early autumn!

Illryeth, I have always said that shoulder phase is gruelling, because there is automatically so much mechanical rubbing leading to crappy ends. In nowhere else on your bodies the hair will have to grow past such a obstacle, apart from maybe buttocks, if one grows so long. I think trimming often is important, at least to me it is. What is also important to always stretch the comfort zone a little bit. If you feel you need trimming every 4 weeks, try to do it every 6-8 weeks. But not so long that the ends get really damaged. And always take less that what you grow, to continue gaining length. Keeping your hair up as much as possible helps too.

Oh, and like I think I already mentioned, on my hair what I used to think were bad, damaged ends, turned out to be removable buildup most of the time.
Seriously laughed out loud at the buttocks-obstacle comparison. Mindwise I have been better these days. In my country the university finals are coming up, so that means a lot of studying, aah! (and putting my hair up, like I always do when I need to study - which does make it easier to cope since it's a 'routine' thingie, not a 'my hair it butchered so I have to wear it up like this' thingie, lol). It also means less browsing LHC, but since I'm drooling on all the long hairies hier, perhaps that is not a bad thing haha.

I normally graduate in july. Woot. It's hard to believe sometimes I'm finally there. I'm rooting for you aswell! Go autumn!

Yikes, this is the shortest my hair has been since I joined this forum, so here I am. Shoulder to APL I cut my hair in an especially bad bout of anxiety and though I do regret it a lot, I intend to use this opportunity to do better this time. I have grown from jaw to collarbone since the cut and haven't been taking care of it at all so I have some new damage to fix.

I couldn't get my camera to focus on the mirror image so it's a bit blurry but the damage from wearing ponytails every day is pretty evident in that "dent" around the back of the skull. Ponytails are now officially banned from my head! The hair has been long enough to french braid for a while now so I need to start doing that. I might maintain collarbone for a while if the braids hold, to even out the length a bit.

I haven't used conditioner in some years since my hair is a magnet for buildup and the constant clarifying didn't feel good. I couldn't find a working cone free conditioner from my town but I think I might now resume that search. Otherwise I'm using coconut oil after shower and occasional scalp oiling to battle dryness and encourage growth. I'm also planning catnip rinses (as soon as I manage to go to petstore to get some) since my hair splits very easily.

So yeah! Armpit length is not that far but I'm not in a hurry.

Count me in! Don't know how long it will take though. I'm growing out some damage too. But I'm babying it like crazy.

Sometimes I feel like I'm not that far away from APL, and then I feel like I'm never going to reach it I'm such a giraffe (tall, long neck, long torso, long legs) so it'll take forever to reach anything!

I think the closer I get to APL the more my mother is going to harass me about getting a haircut.
This morning's conversation (more like: mom talks at me while I fix my breakfast) the instant I got out of bed was about how they're opening two SuperCuts nearby.

Subtle, she is not. Successful in her efforts to get me to cut my hair, she also is not.

Hi everyone! My hair is curling up madly now and looks exactly the same length. when I brush it out on day 3 it flips straight up off my shoulders fifties style. But I measured when wet and I have grown half an inch this past month, making it 20. 5 inches. It also looks longer when its wet. But, when its dry it basically looked like it ceased growing so Im glad I measure every month.

What I have been wondering, does anyone else face the flippy struggle? I have been wondering how long these flippy ends will continue to be ... Flippy.

So I'm closer to APL than I really thought! I just have some kind of ultimate V hemline or something...
E: why, yes, it's a sauna door, not an actual mirror...
