^Thanks for the tip! I tried that although with a different oil and it worked really, really well.

I did a re-evalution and took some better, more straight on pics because I wasn't sure but I think I'm actually already at APL and i misenterpreted Because from straight on down the back it reaches my armpits and it does in the front too depending on how it lays.

Ughhh. Am I there yet!? Haha. This is taking forever!!! I wish I wouldn't have trimmed the last time or I would already be there!! I know it's not a great picture, but I figured I'd show my progress...as slow as it may beee. Sorry if the pic is huge.

SouthernSweetie my hair is just about the same length as yours. Your cut is good, my layers.... not so much. Mine are very choppy but i'm just going to leave them i refuse to go back to a hairdresser. I'm with you on regretting past trims. Looking good bravo on your progress

Looking good SouthernSweetie, I'd say you're very close at the least!

This journey feels so slow sometimes I need to remind myself that this acutally are happening. Left pic is from mid September and the one to the right is today. Just over four months. The dye has faded a bit but the difference in colour is a bit because of the light too. I haven't dyed since early April so there are some ashy roots too.
Anyway and off topic, someone else with hair is moving in with me today, a very energetic 2-year old german shepherd/rottweiler boy, so I guess I won't really have time to watch my own hair for the next couple of weeks.

when I started growing out from black hair dye I felt like my regrowth looked grey too because the box color was so vibrant ...

something that has really been bothering me is that after my winter trim (I do it once in winter once in summer) my end felt worse instead of better and I'm almost positive it's because some of my layers finnaly became ends and they are more damaged than my old ends because I never trimmed the layers since I was trying to grow them out. it's weird though, and dissapointing because in used to new softness on my ends after a trim :/

This is something I'll be experiencing soon as well... Are the old layers still a little above your hemline, or are they in line with it? Maybe you could dust them, say, once a month if they're bothering you a lot? :S

An other shoulder length hair owner here!
I actually never had my hair longer than collarbone-length, so i recently collected the courage to try this new experience and let my hair grow.
Any tips? Things i should avoid/absolutely do?
