Congrats and welcome to new BSL'ers!
So really, I've been measuring at waist for a few weeks now. I've been hesitant to call it, though, because my ends are so darned thin. Plus, on wavier days even those don't really reach waist unless I pull them straight.
My plan has been to start microtrimming when those thin ends reached waist, though, and maintain at waist for a while until more of my hair has reached the ends. So I've started doing that--I trimmed ~1/4" on December 8, and ~1/8" yesterday.
Here's my hair yesterday... it was a straighter day for my hair, and a great soft, well-behaved hair day at that, so I figured it was a good moment to beg a photo out of DBF. This is a few hours before I microtrimmed a teeny tiny bit. If you look closely, you can see that the longest hairs do indeed go a little past my thumbs, which are at waist.
Still, so few hairs reach waist, I'm not sure if I can really call it yet. I may be straddling this thread and the Microtrimming & Maintaining thread for a while until my hair feels more solidly waist. What do y'all think? Does this count as waist? Or should I wait to call it while I trim away those silly little hairs that are sticking out beyond the real, hidden hemline?
