I am getting so close! I'm about an inch away, sitting at about 21 inches with APL at 22. I've been mostly lurking rather than contributing but this thread has still been such a help and inspiration for the last six months since I started actually tracking my length and encouraging it to grow rather than treating it poorly.

My hair has grown just over 1 inch since 18th May...so even though it feels like I'm not making any progress I guess I am
I also bought some new shampoo and conditioner from Tesco (similar to Walmart.) I've been hunting for some hair care stuff that hasn't been tested on (or had its ingredients tested on) animals, but all the products I could find were quite expensive. Anyway, turns out Tesco have quite a stringent policy on animal testing (or at least from what I can gather they do) and even fund testing of alternative methods (although £10,000 a year isn't much of a donation from a billion pound company!) They also don't get other companies to do any testing for them.
The coconut shampoo and conditioner together cost £1.40 ($2.16), and after using them for the first time today and I can say that they were rather nice (and smelt gorgeous), so hopefully I can use them from now on.
Keep going people, our hair is growing even when it feels like it's not!

I'm such a lurker on this thread but I'll post a pic soon. I've been thouroughly enjoying watching people's updates, and am happy to admit my excitement at seeing your siggy updates, browneyedsusan. Fab growth! It's been a year since I joined lhc, and almost a year since I started using henna so my hair has changed a fair bit. Anyhoo, I think I may be more or less at apl now. You'll tell me when I post pics!

Neecola I think it's still good, it says it expired in 2015?? Maybe it's the brand or if it's refined (or something) or not? I used to have coconut oil that was scentless but now I have one that smells really strong! Maybe it's the same with argan oil??
I did a towel test and I'm definitely close! My hair was really straight here though, normally it's a bit more wavy. And my hemline is a mess haha, but I don't mind
