PraiseCheeses, what a hair honor! Seriously lovely hair. I find I can play the violin with my hair down in the back, too, but I rarely do.

I tried sock curls, and my hair went from almost BCL to BSL. I'm tipping my head back in the picture so it looks like it's waist length, but seriously, major shrinkage!

This was taken at a concert I played in last month, on a great day which also included spending some time with Yozhik! I had decided to wear my hair down and was doing a test-run during dress rehearsal to make sure I could play without my hair attacking the violin. Well, there were professional photographers taking candid pictures of the orchestra during that dress rehearsal; about 200 pictures were made available to orchestra members and may be used on the website. It was full of the usual orchestra pictures: string players' left hands, bows on strings, shiny French horns, pensive-looking cellists, the row of bassoonists... when BAM! Hair shot.





It's effing hi-larious that my hair got its own picture. (I was curious enough to look through the rest of the pictures again - no other hair pictures of anyone else.) But holy flyaways, Batman! That's what a Beethoven symphony does to you, I guess.

Hurrah for Beethoven - you can se why he chose to go deaf rather than blind. Great photo.

Thanks PraiseCheesus, I'll try to get a less blurry one eventually. My natural color is a dark ash blonde that makes my roots look grey compared to the rest blegh!

Still a few months till my hair anniversary thread, but I wanted to do some sharing. What I'm most proud of is that these are "normal" hair day pictures. Oh, how I wish I could show them to my teenage shelf so she could stop despairing!

Also, I'm still trying to figure out how to take good pictures of curly black hair, so bear with me. I had some time in a sunny conference room at work today so I took full-advantage! I know my face looks distorted in some of them...but the curls are well-captured!

From the back. The natural light helps a bit, but then I can't hold my iPhone this far away, so it's a grainy laptop picture. I think I need to bribe a friend to help. XD


And a shot that caught the overall curl pattern well:



The best part? My hair is like half an inch from waist! Grrrrr. But everything with a grain of salt. Last time my hair was this length, my hair did NOT look this healthy unless I had a ton of silicone based product in it. Now it looks like this even after having slept on it all night!
