I am not sure if I belong in this thread yet. At the back my hair is almost certainly shoulder length but the sides are not quite there yet and sitting a fraction below my chin so I feel I can only put one foot in this thread for the time being.
You belong here. If I waited for my teensy, shaved, pixie sides to hit shoulders, the back would be BSL! Some recovering chemo patients just grow it all at once, and the top/front is shorter than the nape for a long time. Come on over! We're nice!

    Growing for fun.

Hey all, I've posted in here a few times and just wanted to say I'm APL! I've been APL for a couple weeks but knew I was going to the hairdressers to get it coloured and trimmed (just a very subtle ombre/balayage effect which I love) but she only took a teensy amount off and said how healthy my hair was and that I must be taking such good care of it So I'm still APL and officially calling it! No pics at the moment, might take one a update it as my sig pic but for now my stupid phone won't upload them to the computer.

Thanks browneyedsusan. It feels good to think I am now at shoulder, I like it when you get to another stage as feels like my hair is actually growing and not stalled and barely moving. APL here I come

One thing I have discovered as my hair gets longer is it likes silicones which has suprised me as it is pretty fine. For a while I tried life without them as they tend to be demonised and disliked by so many but my hair just looked fluffy and light which I didn't like.

So for the last couple of weeks I have gone back to the products I use that contain them and I prefer my hair. It is smooth and shiny and looks more like hair and less like fluff. So I have decided I am not a silicone free kinda gal and will stick with them and throw in the occasional clarifying shampoo just to clean the slate every now and again.

Me too! I've been using more and more silicones lately. My hair just really loves them now it's longer, it just makes it softer and more manageable, even though I have fine hair too! I now use cones every other wash, so about 50/50. My hair likes it a lot! Weird how things change when your hair gets longer mm?

Hey everyone, just wondering whether I qualify as shoulder length?

    IMO you are shoulder length

I noticed yesterday that when my hair is wet and combed out it brushes the top of my towel. BUT I won't call it APL until it reaches that point while dry.
