Neecola, thanks for the link! It's great!
browneyedsusan - love the new siggy pic! Your hair looks great! Sounds like you've found a good hairdresser.
Joflakes - have you seen this thread? I've been trying out some of these styles lately.

Neecola, thanks for the link! It's great!
Just let it grow...back to my natural hair colour and as long as it grows...
Ah up-do's I do a lot:
1. pony tail lol! (Either with an elastic or with one of those big clips!)
2. a ballerina bun (sock bun is also an option!)
3. fake dutch crown braid (as in my avatar!)
4. fake english crown braid :P
5. fishtail/herringbone pigtails
6. smaller herringbone braids, like dutch braiding my bangs and work them into a small herringbone braid. Or a half up-do with a herringbone braid
7. gibson tuck!
8. ehm.. that's it I think?
Peacock-french twist hybrid is something I do a lot. That might work too. I can do it with a french twist comb.

Mugili - you're welcome!
Oktobergoud - I like the sound of herringbone pigtails... think I might give that a try, thanks!
Oktobergoud how did you fake the crown braid? It looks great!

Thanks! I basically make a part (a little to the right) and just start Dutch braiding and end up making Dutch braided pigtails? Like this: http://myboringhair.tumblr.com/post/...y-nasty-greasy and then pin the braids up! That's it![]()
http://myboringhair.tumblr.com/tagged/braid here are more pictures of the braids I do, might give you a few ideas![]()
Oktobergoud: I LOVE that you shared your nasty/greasy fake crown braid! We all have nasty/greasy days, and you shared a great solution. I might be able to do that, with some product to stick the layers together. FWIW: your hair looks fabulous. We both have longish hair places --your front, and my back! I haven't had my hair this long since... high school? (Before the pixie, was a chin-length bob...) I hennaed my roots yesterday and today have the itchy scalp. (I love henna, but it's so dry on my middle-aged head!) It's a stay-home day, so I might break out the EVOO and Q-tips and give my head a once over. Then Oktobergoud's cutsie fake crown braid? hmm....
henna keeps it red, and red makes me happy.
Pixied for 15+ years and liked it.
Growing for fun.
Thanks! Yeah I have a very oily skin (lots of acne as well ugh) so my scalp gets greasy fast! Sometimes I think at night 'ah I don't have to wash my hair, it's fine for another 2 days!' and then I wake up and it looks like that nasty oily mess like in the crown braid picture
I do try to stretch my washes but every 3 days is as long as I can go now. My scalp is a lot happier/healthier when I wash it regularly

Anyway, that was kinda off-topic lol! My hair hasn't been this long for about 6 years either! I think it was about an inch longer back then, but exactly 6 years ago I started to bleach my-almost-APL-jetblack hair (I had been growing it out for 2 years or so and was dreaming of BSL/waist!) to platinum white. I've had a pixie (or sometimes a short bob) ever since! Can't believe it's already so long (even though it took me 2 years haha). I can't believe your hair grew so fast! I don't even want to think about how long my hair would have been if I didn't cut it so much :P
I'm going to henna it next week, after I have been to the orthodontist (LOL that is my 1 henna rule: don't henna it right before going the orthodontist because you will smell like a hay farm or something and you will feel embarrassed/self-conscious since those people will be so close to your head), which is every 6 weeks or so.. so perfect timing!
Anyway, I'm curious to see you with the fake crown braidIf you do it, please show pics

Here you go! It's slipping.... (Please ignore the dutch/french/lace braid. My "default" is Frenchlace braiding, so I reverted to that when I had to switch hands.) I'm going to have to take it down and re-do.
